Thousands of Christians have been murdered in recent years alone; Nigeria accounts for the large majority of Christians killed worldwide for their faith according to organizations that track this.

👉Churches are torched, pastors executed, and survivors left with scars, trauma, and displacement.

That is persecution with body counts, ashes, and empty villages.

👉It is not the same as someone smashing or burning a statue, spray painting a church door, or posting an offensive in a Western country where Christians still worship freely, hold public office, and face no risk of massacre for attending Sunday service.
Those acts can be ugly, disrespectful, or illegal, and people are free to protest them loudly.

👉But they do not involve systematic slaughter, mass graves, or the deliberate erasure of Christian communities under the banner of religious ideology.

The outrage gap is striking: many who react with maximum volume to symbolic or cultural slights in safe societies show far less urgency or sometimes denial when actual beheadings, village burnings, and faith-targeted killings occur on a large scale.
The Nigerian reality is not “so called��� persecution.
It is documented, ongoing, and lethal.
Survivors carry the physical and emotional marks; the dead do not get to debate semantics.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

We lift up Nigeria before You today its people, its churches, its villages, and every heart that is broken by violence and fear.

Lord, protect our brothers and sisters in Christ who face persecution, attacks, and loss. Shield the innocent, comfort the grieving, heal the wounded, and strengthen those who are displaced or in hiding.

Let Your presence be a refuge for the fearful and a source of courage for the faithful.
Bring an end to the killings, the burnings, and the terror.

Soften hard hearts, restrain the hands of those who do evil, and raise up leaders who will defend justice and protect the vulnerable. Grant wisdom to the government, courage to security forces, and unity among all who seek peace.

Pour out Your peace upon the land peace that surpasses understanding.
Restore what has been destroyed, rebuild what has been burned, and let hope rise again in communities that have known only sorrow.

Her name was Lisa, she was only 17.

While cycling home from Amsterdam to Abcoude, she realized someone was following her. She called the police, but she never made it home.

Hours later, officers found her body in a ditch with multiple stab wounds, including to the neck.

The suspect is Chris Jude, a Nigerian asylum seeker who arrived in the Netherlands only weeks earlier. He has confessed to her murder, as well as the rape of one woman and the attempted rape of another in the same area days before.

He remains in custody. Trial is scheduled for 2027. No sentence has been handed down yet.

After Christopher Reeve was thrown from his horse in 1995 and paralysed from the shoulders down, he told Dana from his hospital bed that she should take their son and move on. She hadn't signed up for this.

"You're still you," she told him. "And I love you."

He later said that was the moment he decided to live.

Dana abandoned her acting and singing career entirely to become his carer, advocate and constant presence. They built the Christopher Reeve Foundation together.
