I make more in Maryland than I’d make in central PA because it’s more expensive to live in Maryland. So yes, the teachers in Dallas may be making more but how much are they paying to live there?

We are also forced to get more training and pay half out of pocket for it. Moving diagonally across the board. But losing that money we are earning to pay for the high education.

Every year and with higher education, the pay gets higher by a couple thousand. It takes about 20 years of being a teacher to see that salary. Teachers in their first 10 years aren’t making 75k.
