I am proud to have been a part of the official opening of the new Ashton Arch Bridge in Ashton today. I joined the Western Cape Minister of Transport and Public Works at this momentous occasion.
Vinpro is pleased that #wine businesses can start trading again, but will continue prioritising actions to improve long-term sustainability. This includes going ahead with the court application that was launched in the Cape High Court on 27 Jan 2021.

The South African wine industry is an engine of transformation, don't switch it off. Wine is not simply a beverage – it’s education, housing, food. A piece for @WOSA_ZA on the good the industry does.

Thank you to each and every local & international fan of our #SpectacularSouthAfrica wines for your continued support of our #wine producers & the 290 000 people employed by our industry. We truly appreciate it! #SaveSAwine
SA Govt's decision to extend the #AlcoholBan has led the alcohol industry to apply for a deferment of payment of excise tax payments until the ban is lifted.
In the 17 weeks following the prohibition in March 2020, the #wine sector lost more than R8bn in direct sales revenue.
There are more reasonable alternatives than a 4th total alcohol ban! This is a devastating blow for our wine industry that is already in a dire situation after a 18 week domestic ban. With significant stock levels, probability high that full harvest cannot be crushed.@Vinpro_za
The SA #wine industry has been dealt yet another devastating blow. Even more businesses will be crippled & livelihoods lost following the 4th blanket #AlcoholBan. If the current oversupply can't be moved, there will be no space for #Harvest21.
Although 2021 is off to a rocky start & may not be without a new set of challenges, we believe the SA #wine industry will remain resilient.
