What a lame and pathetic decision by @Hassaan_Mhmd to sign-off on the EIA, and an even more cowardly act by @aleeshareef to approve the project by hiding behind an unconstitutional regulation that overrides Article 23 of the Constitution guaranteeing the right to a safe, healthy, and ecologically well-balanced environment !

Your Decision Statement itself says that the criteria set by the @ERA_Maldives was not met in the EIA, and yet you give them 30 days to do these assessments AFTER commencing the project work.

What good would an assessment of endangered species do if they are buried under sand before the report is published (which let’s be honest it never will, and you won’t actually do anything about it).

Your legacy is forever tainted by the harm you wilfully do to our environment, and the loss we have had to endure because you try to hold on to positions of public trust that you clearly no longer have.

އަޒީޒުބޭބެ އަކީ ބައިނަލްއަޤުވާމީ ކަނޑު ތަކަަށް ފަރިތަ މާލިމީއެއް. ނެވި ކަމުގެ ދާއިރާގެ ފަންނީ ތަޖުރިބާކާރެއް. ��ެދު އިރުމަތީގައި މަސައްކަތް ކުރެއްވި ދުވަސްވަރު ވަރަށް ގިނަ ބަޔަކަށް މެދު އިރުމަތީގައި މަސައްކަތް ކުރުމުގެ ފުރުސަތު ހޯއްދަވައި ދެއްވި. ޚާއްސަކޮށް ވަޒީފާގެ ފުރުސަތު ތަކެއް ނެތް އެ ދުވަސްވަރު، އާއިލާގެ ގިނަ ބަޔަކަށް މެދު އިރުމަތީގައި މަސައްކަތް ކުރުމުގެ ހިތްވަރުދީ، ފުރުސަތު ހޯއްދަވައި ދެއްވި.

އަޒީޒުބޭބެ ވަނީ މުދައްރިސުކަން ކުރައްވާފައި އަދި އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ކުޑައިރު ��ޭއްވި ފުޓުބޯޅަ މުބާރާތް ތަކުގައި ބައިވެރިވެ، ކޯޗުކަން ކޮށްދެއްވައި ކުޅިވަރު ކުޅުމަށް ވަރަށް ބޮޑަށް ހިތްވަރު ދެއްވާފައި.

އަޒީޒުބޭބެ އަޅުގަނޑުގެ ބައްޕައާ ވަރަށް ގާތް ގުޅުމެއް އަބަދުވެސް ބޭއްވި. ވަކިން ޚާއްސަކޮށް އަޅުގަނޑުގެ މުއްނާ އާއި ކާފަ އަށް ވަރަށް ހެޔޮކޮށް ހިތްތެވި. އަދި އާއިލާގެ އެންމެހާ ކުދިންނަށް ވަރަަށް ބޮޑު ނަމޫނާއެއް ދައްކަވައި، ތަޢުލީމު އުގެނުމަށާއި މަސައްކަތުގެ ދާއިރާ އިން ކުރިއަށް ދިޔުމަށް ވަރަށް ބޮޑު އެހީތެރިކަމެއް ދެއްވި.

އަޒީޒުބޭބެ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނާ ވަކިވެ ދިޔަޔަސް، އަޒީޒުބޭބެގެ ފުން ހަނދާންތައް ތާ އަބަދު އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގ�� ހިތު ތެރޭގައި ދެމި ހުންނާނެ.
އަޅުގަނޑުގެ ދުއާ އަކީ މާތް ﷲ ގެ ހެޔޮ ރަޙުމަތުން އަޒީޒުބޭބެގެ ފުރާނަ އަށް ސުވަރު ގޭގެ ދާއިމީ ނިއުމަތް މިންވަރު ކުރެއްވުން. އަދި މި އުނދަގޫ ވަގުތު މުޅި އާއިލާ އަށް ކެތްތެރިކަން ދެއްވުން. އާމީން.

��ަމަ މިއާއި އެކު މަންތާ ބީޗް ރިޓްރީޓްގެ މެނޭޖްމަންޓްގައި ތިއްބެވި ޒުވާން ބޭފުޅުންގެ ހިތްވަރާއި އެކު ރަށުގައި ފަތުރުވެރިކަން ފުޅާ ކުރުމަށް ކުރަމުންދާ މަސައްކަތަކީ ނަމޫނާއެއް. މިފަދަ ވިޔަފާރިތައް ކުރިއެރުވުމަށް ސަރުކާރުން ފަސޭހަ ގޮތްތަކެއް މަގުފަހިކޮށްދޭން ޖެހޭ. މީދޫ އަކީ ފަތުރުވެރިކަމަށް ފައްކާވެފައި އޮތް ސާފު ރީތި ރަށެއް.

Can someone ask @MMuizzu in the ongoing press conference for a response to this letter?

The EIA with significant errors and faults has also been approved and work is set to begin soon.

This is a very avoidable environmental disaster, it must come to the attention of the President.
