The following only happened to Muslims over past 20+ years: invasion, occupation and decimation of Muslim nations (Afghanistan/Iraq) - 1.25 million dead; indiscriminate drone warfare killing and maiming 1000s (Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, Libya); use of torture and imprisonment without trial for decades at Guantanamo (and secret torture sites in Thailand, Romania, Lithuania, Poland); new UK laws passed each year applied de facto against Muslims: 2001 internment of 16 Muslims , control orders - virtual house arrest without proper legal means of challenge, secret evidence often supplied by states that practice torture; schedule7 - 1 million+ stops where Muslims are disproportionately searched and questioned at airports without any reasonable suspicion of criminality; Prevent - Muslim children and students disproportionately viewed as extremism suspects; passport removal and nationality revocation - mostly applied against Muslims. Then, there’s politicians singling out Muslims women’s dress; relentless media attacks on every aspects of Muslim life - dress, diet, mosques, education, beliefs.

All of the above is before we get to discrimination in social life or the type of street level thuggery we’re now seeing.

So, I suggest you STFU and educate yourself.

Der Vorfall in #Monheim macht fassungslos. Das Haus von Ercan T. wurde vorgestern um 4 Uhr morgens vom LKA-NRW gestürmt, Ercan wurde dabei brutal geschlagen und erlitt Verletzungen, weshalb er in den kommenden Tagen operiert werden muss.

Das verstörende am Vorgehen der Polizei ist: Die Razzia sollte nicht Ercan T. gelten. Es handelt sich um eine Verwechslung. Es wurde jemand anderes verdächtigt und Ercan T. und seine Frau sind die Leidtragenen. Seine Frau musste, zusehen, wie ein Sondereinsatzkommando sich auf ihren Ehemann stürzten und auf ihn einschlugen.

Wir haben heute beide besucht. Sie stehen auch weiterhin unter Schock und benötigen psychologische Betreuung.

Sowohl die Verwechselung, als auch das brutale Vorgehen der Einsatzleute verurteile ich auf das Schärfste und fordere die Polizei und das Innenministerium NRW auf, eine Untersuchung einzuleiten, den Vorfall umgehend zu untersuchen und das unverhältnismäßige Vorgehen zu bestrafen!
Es muss festgestellt werden, wie es zu einem solchen Vorfall kommen konnte.

Was auch erschütternd ist, ist die Tatsache, dass sich noch niemand bei dem jungen Ehepaar entschuldigt hat.

Ich danke dem Bürgermeister der Stadt Monheim, dass er, als er davon erfahren hat, sich bei der Familie gemeldet und sich nach ihrem Wohlbefinden erkundigt hat.

Diese ‚Verwechslung‘ ist leider kein Einzelfall. Nicht selten werden Personen mit Migrationshintergrund Opfer solcher 'Verwechslungen'. Dem muss auf den Grund gegangen werden, verantwortliche Personen zur Rechenschaft gezogen werden.
