We have truly hit a new low. Forget smashing patriarchy, we are digging a deeper hole of testosterone-fueled misogyny to bury ourselves in. Instead of appreciating an ad for trying to go a bit beyond the patriarchal concept of Rakshabandhan by including a fur baby, we are busy monitoring cleavages. Shame on us as a society. And shame on GIVA for showing such little spine.
@tishasaroyan D problem with these people is dat they quote Romila Thapr
donтАЩt call themselves Hindus, yet point fingers only at Hindus
When it comes to speaking abt other religions, they lose their nerve
B happy that you are living in an era of Hindu tolerance, not under an Islamic burqa regime

What @kritisanon did was her choice тАж.however you are talking about freedom to wear when you would have been literally told what to wear by her costume designer.
You are a great artiste Kriti, and reactions would have been the same if instead of you, the guy was dressed stupidly. ItтАЩs not boys who are calling it out but very educated young liberals females who are sharing their angst.
ItтАЩs not against you, but understand the disappointment when our festivals are being commercialised in a very greedy way. No one would raise same emotion if you were doing an advert for a beverage on a Saturday night party.
By the way sharing an amazing ad by @amazonIN for this festival. People are free to decide, which one had more positive impact on the branding.

I think this woman is beautiful & what she wears is absolutely her choice. Just that this outfit is more appropriate for a sexy date rather than celebrating a sacred bond with one's brother. After all, you wouldn't wear this on Eid or while celebrating Christmas, would you? On Valentine's Day it would be fine. You see, context matters. Occasion matters. And somewhere we seem to have lost that nuance
