A few takeaways on the first week of game deving a 3D/2D fps with 0 experience in godot and with the help of @privateerai

It's incredible easy to spin up game logic.

I know how time consuming the programming side of the things I asked for would be without AI so I'm impressed by all measures.

I was able to add cars and driving in a jiffy, sound effects, vfx and models using privateer's media capability tools.

Often times the bare minimum first shot attempts are fair, though from a mechanical perspective. However the gui most models produced were just so dang generic. I wanted to really hone in on the look of the game. And I think we're getting somewhere legendary.

I've been working with 2d animations for the player actions and the generations on the video animations are good BUT still require multiple attempt. This was doscussed in 2025 and is still an issue today.

And that cuts into development and cost by a lot but the gains from handcrafting these animations are bar none easier for entrants. Getting the right prompt and punching it into keyframes is simple and automatable. Handcrafting these animations would be a whole other skill issue.

So its still a pain point, still figuring out a good way to approach it, if anyone has any tips let me know.

ALSO 3D animations incoming, i have an idea of how I'll approach it but lets see how it goes.

Poland 🇵🇱 is the most racist country in the EU.

I arrived 4 days ago. But it took me exactly 1 day to find out why.

I wanted to buy a protein shake in Zabka. I asked the worker (in English) where the protein section is & she screamed "SPEAK POLISH!".

So I went & found it myself.

But when paying, she just pointed at the self-checkout with Polish instructions.

I asked her how it works with my broken Polish & she completely changed.

Suddenly she's asking where this "cute" accent is from & what I'm doing in Warsaw. We talked for about 10 minutes.

First I was confused. But then I understood.

It's not about being racist, it's about respect.

Polish people are extremely smart & they've built a country that they're proud of.

They don't want it destroyed by foreigners, so they protect it.

Growing up in Germany, I've seen what happens when that protection isn't there. Walking around my home town Bad Kreuznach, I don't feel like I'm in Germany anymore.

Whole districts feel like another country with different cultures & no native German speakers on the streets.

In fact, more shops speak foreign languages than German.

Traditions changed, the German flag disappeared & the country doesn't even offer safe Christmas markets anymore.

Meanwhile Poland just got officially exempted from the EU's migrant relocation mechanism.

Meaning, they can be "legally racist" now. Or formally, they don’t have to take a single migrant anymore.

Brussels said Poland is under significant pressure because of the million Ukrainians it took in so the quota doesn't apply to them.

However, every other EU member country still takes migrants & if they refuse they pay a fine. Poland does neither.

The irony is that my family left Poland in the 90s for a better life in Germany.

But 30 years later, every Polish person I know wants to move back. My family included.

And if that means getting screamed at in Zabka until my Polish is fluent again, I'll take it.

I'll be building a 3D sci fi horror game. Think slow methodical, story oriented, tension and spooks. Dark solitude tone with glimmers of relief and a bleed into abstraction.

Will be budgeting 1000 almighty american dollars towards AI compute through Privateer and using the Privateer AI platform, the unreal engine mcp along with 3d asset generators and animation rigging tools.

Starting from an existing project with a basic framework in place that lays the foundation of the main gameplay built on UE.

The story is half bake, will be doing character, level and gameplay design.

Aiming it as a 1 month build and will be live streaming daily.
