the one captured by #LesBrown -- that my only measure of success was making others (my students) successful. Now as the CEO of @RealThinkHR & @askmammoth, Les Brown’s quote is the north star of #leadership for me. [cont.]
The third quote on my home office wall is from the motivational speaker #LesBrown. Once upon a time, I was a fourth grade teacher at Frank L. Stanton Elementary School in Atlanta. I learned many #leadershiplessons from my experience teaching, but none as important as [cont.]
In this post, our Senior Writer & Editor at @RealThinkHR & @askmammoth, @kylecupp, discusses how businesses can meet the immediate needs of candidates and set them up for future success: https://t.co/8CeH1gQzDR

While many businesses are turning to signing bonuses and other methods to entice candidates, focusing on the immediate needs of candidates like safety, flexibility, and pay are essential.
If you’re struggling to fill your open positions, you’re not alone. According to @NFIB's last monthly jobs report, 42% of businesses have openings they could not fill. In the wake of the pandemic, the needs and desires of job candidates have changed. [cont]
Making sure the mission is clear and compelling, the team sees in itself the ability to go accomplish it, and the team knows it has my and each other’s faith and support to go do it.

Eleanor was speaking about civic #leadership, but I believe her words apply to business. When people believe in themselves and each other they can accomplish great things. That sense of community & shared direction is more scalable & powerful than the reach of any single person.
I’ll be sharing the 4 quotes on my home office wall, along with the leadership lessons each one holds for me. The second is from #EleanorRoosevelt, “Good leaders inspire people to have confidence in their leader. Great leaders inspire people to have confidence in themselves."
This year @realthinkhr & @askmammoth, we celebrated this, as well as the incredible efforts of our parent-employees and the patience, understanding, & curiosity of our children, by hosting a virtual interactive session for our employees & their families to learn & play together.
We’ve learned to laugh at the interruptions and be grateful for the extra opportunities to connect with our children -- our own and our colleagues’ -- while also recognizing the challenges and supporting each other as we try to balance our work, and full-time parenting.
Take Your Child to Work Day was yesterday, each year it's a day to engage our kids in the experience of working and being part of a company & team. This year is unique. For many parents, myself included, nearly everyday over the last year has been #TakeYourChildToWorkDay (cont)
So I put this quote on my wall to stay centered on what I’m here to do and to help others do: give our best, knowing it’s not perfect, and take every opportunity as a chance to learn, to get better, and to do better. #leadershipquotes#leadershipinsights
Sometimes I (& teams I’ve been part of) are held back by a fear of failure, of not doing something perfectly. These words remind me that perfection isn’t what #leadership, business, and life are about. If it was, we’d never try something new, take risks, and learn.
