Steve, I was at the Milwaukee editors conference probably 15 years ago when the big announcement came out about the move towards battery-powered tools vs. corded tools. I was the oldest editor there. In my head I said, Milwaukee is no longer in the *tool* business - they're now a battery company. Think razor blades...
I predicted this 18 months ago. I used to be Google's poster boy for their AdSense program back in 2005-2009. So much so I was invited TWICE to their prestigious Zeitgeist event.
Those publishers like me that will continue to publish will rise from the ashes. I know this for a fact.
GROAN! I have about 100K miles to use up. Months ago, when they added the $95 annual charge to the SW credit card, I got rid of mine. This is all due to that stockholder who took control of the airline. I believe he'll discover any short-term profit will disappear as we migrate to other carriers.
@Be_Believing That color in the water is MOST LIKELY the natural tannins in the wood, not bacteria and oil. STOP BELIEVING everything you see in videos like this.
@realjameswoods Construction on the transcontinental RR didn't really start in earnest until 1865. Remember, NO power tools! No bulldozers! Everything was done by hand! Over 1,000 miles of track laid in just four years.
It took just four years to build the transcontinental railroad from Omaha, NE to Sacramento, CA using NO power tools, bulldozers, hydraulic drilling machines, etc. Allow that to process in your brain.
Hours after Gavin Newsom celebrated a major made up milestone for California’s criminally over budget and delayed high speed rail, it caught on fire…
Fortunately, no tracks were destroyed in the blaze, but that’s only because none have been laid in 16 years.
Donald TOLD everyone 38 years ago about how tariffs work! Makes you wonder how many politicians of old were getting under-the-table payments from all those foreign manufacturers.
@elonmusk@elonmusk Elon, you may enjoy this. Years ago, my good friend Dave (RIP) said to me when I decided to switch from a builder to a syndicated columnist in my hunt for more money, "Timmy, you'll have all the same problems you have now, but they'll just be BIGGER." He was spot on.
Wind-sculpted snow on Lake Winnisquam, NH. The ice is at least 12 inches thick and the snow cover was close to 24 inches before the wind blew lots of it south. #lakewinnisquam#centralnh#winnisquamnh
