The AI boom not only ruined online art, but it also ruined the computer parts market, I'm so sad that I never went ahead and built my own PC, cause now I just won't be able to, cause every part costs a fortune.
Truly, AI is a blight upon this world.
THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO IS LET THIS WORLD STEAL YOUR WHIMSY. PROTECT YOUR WHIMSY AT ALL COST. DON’T LET THESE JOYLESS MOTHERFUCKERS STEAL YOUR MAGIC.
"I'm so disappointed in steam. Not like nintendo. Their price hike wasn't as bad, and Sony also-"
THE PROBLEM IS AI CUNTS HIKING HARDWARE PRICES. WE'RE TURNING ON EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF THE MUTUAL ENEMY. FOCUS LADS
950$ for a Steam Deck
900$ for a PS5 Pro
650$ for an Xbox Series X
600$ for a PS5
500$ for a Switch 2
Gaming has become unaffordable, this literally can't be sustainable.
Playing Miitopia again since I never played the Switch version. I got a weird bug where the faces sometimes swap with the monster or another mii when, I assume, the mii blinks?
So it looks like they are possessed by a demon or something. 😭
Words cannot describe how much I fucking hate the government, calling the youth the "bedroom generation", fuck off out of here and it's nothing to do with social media either.
There's a lot of reasons as to why young people aren't in work and it's not because "they spend all day in their bedrooms"
1, Job hunting is borderline impossible
Especially online, you have a lot of listings for jobs that either don't exist, or have already been taken an the company didn't take them down, and when you apply, they either don't bother responding or have you go through so many hoops it's unreal.
You submit your CV, you wait. No response. You submit your CV, you wait. No response. You submit your CV, you wait. No response. You submit your CV, you wait. N.O R.E.S.P.O.N.S.E
Plenty of people find work, how about we introduce a law that forces ALL employers to respond so we know those so-called "listings" are actually real jobs and not data harvesting operations?
2, Immigration
idc what propaganda so-called modern "leftists" try to push, one of the reasons the job market sucks is also because of high immigration, so bosses can get away with paying less to immigrant workers.
A high amount of immigrants, especially from the Boriswave, are from countries where, our minimum wage, is a luxurious one in their original countries.
British workers know our wages are absolutely horrendous and a lot of us want higher pay, so, why not skirt around that and hire someone from a country who won't complain about it. In their eyes, the wages are fantastic.
If it's not immigrants it's remote work that's outsourced to poorer countries too.
3, Decline of high streets and no risk-taking
Over the past 15-ish years or so, we've seen ecommerce absolutely rocket, why bother going into town to pick up a new TV or do your food shopping when you can do it all online?
People aren't going into town to shop as much as they used to, because of that, the British high street is dying, many smaller towns are shells of what they were 20, or 30 years ago.
Shops are shutting left, right and center, what used to be a great source for jobs just isn't there now. And the replacements that often pop up are generic takeaway #483 (that'll also close in a year due to high energy), vape shops, barbers or phone repair shops. They're a dime a dozen and many are money laundering fronts.
The government is also very averse to letting those who want to build their own business too, there's no real support from the government to help the young and ambitious try to contribute to the British economy.
4, University degrees are useless
There used to be a time when getting a degree from uni was a ticket to getting a high paying/high ranking job. Not anymore it seems, because a lot of job listings want the highest degrees for >entry< level work.
Not even counting how said degree doesn't even guarantee you a job in the field you studied in anymore.
Why even bother slaving away at uni, if all you're going to end up with is minimum wage and £38k of debt?
5, Rise of AI
This is the one most people know an warn about, but with the rise of AI, and how companies have been so quick to try and implement it, it's no secret that AI will be coming for a lot of jobs, especially those in the creative industry (AI art) and likely office based work too
When AI becomes even more advanced, employers won't even bother with immigrants anymore, why bother paying for an immigrant worker, when you can just cheap out even more and pay for an AI subscription to do the bulk of the work for you?
-----------------------------------------------
THERE. IS. NO. HOPE. FOR. ANYONE. UNDER. 35.
Why does no fucking dickhead in government actually listen to what we have to say?
People have been saying what's wrong with this country for YEARS. But again, the government ignore that and go "nah must be idle layabouts wanting handouts, lousy bedroom generation"
Useless rats, the lot of them.
