Avoid the Ḥarām to be a True Worshipper

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet ﷺ said to him:

“Avoid the forbidden things, and you will be the most devoted worshipper among people.”

And 'Ā'ishah bint Abī Bakr (may Allāh be pleased with her) said:

وقال الحسن: ما عُبِّدَ العابدون بشيءٍ أفضلَ من ترك ما نهاهم الله عنه.

Avoid the Ḥarām to be a True Worshipper

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet ﷺ said to him:

“Avoid the forbidden things, and you will be the most devoted worshipper among people.”

And 'Ā'ishah bint Abī Bakr (may Allāh be pleased with her) said:

abandoning what Allāh has forbidden them.”

Jāmi' al-'Ulum wa al-Hikam, Ḥadīth 9

ورُوي عن أبي هريرة عن النبيّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال له: "اتَّق المحارم، تَكُن أعبدَ الناس"

وقالت عائشة رضي الله عنها: من سرّه أن يسبق الدائبَ المجتهدَ، فليكفَّ عن الذنوب، وروى عنها مرفوعًا

said that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

“For me to say ‘Subḥān Allāh, al-ḥamdu lillāh, lā ilāha illā Allāh, and Allāhu akbar ’ is more beloved to me than all that the sun has risen over.”

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَى اللَّهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله : كَلِمَتَانِ خَفِيفَتَانِ عَلَى اللِّسَانِ ثَقِيلَتَانِ فِي الْمِيزَانِ حَبِيبَتَانِ إِلَى الرَّحْمَنِ سُبْحَانَ الله وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ اللهُ الْعَظِيمِ

Ḥadīth 31

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لأَنْ أَقُولَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ أَحَبُّ إِلَىَّ مِمَّا طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ "

Narrated by Abū Hurayrah, who

لغير الدين ، وتعلم لغير العمل ، والتمست الدنيا بغير الآخرة .

It has been narrated from ʿAlī (may Allāh be pleased with him) that he mentioned trials (fitan) that would occur at the end of time.

'ʿUmar said to him: “When will that be, O ʿAlī?”

He said: “When religious understanding (fiqh) is sought for purposes other than the religion,

knowledge is learned for purposes other than acting upon it, and the world is sought without regard for the Hereafter.”

📘 Jāmiʿ al-ʿUlūm wa’l-Ḥikam (Ibn Rajab) .

وقد روي عن علي رضي الله عنه أنه ذكر فتنا تكون في آخر الزمان ، فقال له عمر : متى ذلك يا علي ؟ قال : إذا تفقه

وَلَمْ يَأْمُرْ وَاحِداً مِنْهُمْ بِغَسْلِ فَمِ ، وَلَا نَهَاهُ عَنْ عَوْدِهِ

Everything from the Prophet ﷺ is PURE

Among the proofs is that Mālik ibn Sinān drank the Prophet’s blood on the Day of Uḥud, sucking it from his wound, and the Prophet ﷺ approved of that for him and said:

“The Fire will never touch him.”

Likewise, Abdullāh ibn al-Zubayr

( وَيْلٌ لَكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، وَوَيْلٌ لَهُمْ مِنْكَ » ، وَلَمْ يُنْكِرْهُ

وَقَدْ رُوِيَ نَحْرٌ مِنْ هَذَا عَنْهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي امْرَأَةٍ شَرِبَتْ بَوْلَهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا : « لَنْ تَشْتَكِي وَجَعَ بَطْنِكِ أَبَداً » .

al-salam, where payment is made now for goods delivered later, justice depends on precise valuation. If urgency or impatience distorts the exchange, then ghabn appears—an unseen loss that only becomes clear with time.

In essence, it is a quiet warning:

Imām al-Buṣīrī رحمه الله says

وَمَنْ يَبِعْ أَجِلًا مِنْهُ بِعَاجِلِهِ يَبِنْ لَهُ الْغَبْنُ فِي بَيْعِ وَفِي سَلَمِ

Whoever sells off his future for his present will come To see the loss in his sale and future delivery

SubḥānAllāh

The couplet is saying:

When a person

trades away something meant for the future in exchange for quick gain, he often underestimates its true worth. At first, the deal may seem acceptable, but time eventually reveals the imbalance—he has sold something valuable cheaply.

Even in lawful deferred contracts like bay'

وَكَذَلِكَ مَنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مِنَ الْمَلاَئِكَةِ ".

Allāh raised the rank of the angels whom attended battle with His Beloved ﷺ

Narrated by Rifa'ah ibn Rafi' al-Zuraqi, from his father — and his father was among the participants of the Battle of Badr:
