We had a wonderful time yesterday at the Supporting Needs Conference by @North_Ayrshire Council Education Services.
Our team were on hand to share information about our specialist services and how we make a positive difference to the lives of young people at Radio City School.
Young people at one of our services have been helping raise five ducklings recently.
Daisy, Pepe, KK, Bubbles and Green have been taken care of by some very caring young people over the last few weeks. We're excited to see them grow up!

We've had a great time recently celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee at Radio City School in Ayrshire!
It's been a fantastic opportunity to teach our young people about the Royal Family and make some happy memories.

Spring has sprung in Scotland, and the young people at one of our services have been preparing plants and seeds for their garden. We can't wait to see these grow!

Rocco the goat certainly has that Monday feeling!
The friendly animals at one of our children’s homes help provide a unique experience for our young people. Looking after animals can reduce anxiety, build resilience and develop a range of skills. They're also very entertaining!
It’s been an exciting start to 2022, with lots of fun activities and fantastic achievements by the young people we support.

What an accomplishment! 👏
This young person did a brilliant job on their woodwork recently. In just ten days they created this grinning face and photo frames.🤩
The project was supervised, enabling the use of various power tools to create something meaningful and unique.
Enabling young people to visit new places and experience fun activities is something that makes our roles so rewarding.
We recently took a trip to Glencoe to see the picturesque waterfall. The snow resulted in attempting to build the biggest snowman!

Staff and young people at some of our children's homes enjoyed celebrating the Chinese New Year recently. Young people made decorations and a homemade buffet to celebrate the year of the tiger.

We had lots of fun recently celebrating Burns Night across our children’s homes.
Dressed in tartan, our staff and young people enjoyed baking and reading poems from Robert Burns. A traditional supper of haggis, neeps and tatties was enjoyed by all.

We have a new arrival at Aspire Scotland, introducing Puddles the duck. Our young people have watched Puddles hatch from an egg in our incubator.
It’s been a great way to learn about nature and everyone is very fond of Puddles.

It was an exciting evening last Friday as our young people and staff watched the England vs Scotland football game.
They decorated the homes with banners and flags, and cheered on Scotland together.

As some of our children's homes are near to the coast, a sunny day can often mean a trip to the beach.
On our recent visit, our young people enjoyed playing games together and building sandcastles.

We encourage our young people to develop interests. Taking up a hobby provides opportunities for expressing themselves, building self-esteem and learning about the world.
One of our young people loves arts and crafts and has created this wonderful self-portrait.

Introducing Bob the bearded dragon, a new animal at Aspire Scotland.
One of our young people has already built such a bond with Bob that staff made a special bearded dragon birthday cake for him.

Last weekend we had a pizza night at one of our homes, where our young people and staff enjoyed making pizzas from scratch.
It was a fun night and the results were delicious, as our photo shows.

Our young people have recently enjoyed trips out to local attractions including a farm park and country estate.
It’s been great being outdoors together and building confidence trying new things, such as paddleboating.

One of our young people has recently been working with staff on some outdoor projects.
These have included painting garden furniture, putting up a gate & building a chicken coop. Her involvement has developed her self-esteem, as well as building teamwork & communication skills.
As some of the national restrictions start to ease, our young people have been able to safely visit a local trampoline park.
Our staff asked how they would like to spend the weekend and trampolining was top of the list. They were all really excited and enjoyed their visit.
