Watching Fauda on Netflix brought back a memory I wish I could forget.
The horrifying scenes of civilians being killed on October 7 took me back nearly three years, to that morning when I woke up at 6:30 a.m. to the sound of rockets being fired from Gaza.
On my way to work, I saw an Israeli 4x4 driving through the streets with an elderly Israeli woman inside, while people around it were cheering. I was devastated and in shock. I wanted to do something, but I couldnât. I remember thinking: âThis is the end.â
That day, I posted a tweet condemning October 7.
I paid a heavy price for speaking out. Hamas made sure of that.
