As the rainy season arrives, the hand of kindness we extend to our people grows longer with it. Today, we officially launched this year's rainy season volunteer campaign in South West Shewa Zone, Goro District, Gurura Village, where 20 homes will be built per our rural corridor initiative design.
It is only when we extend a hand to one another that we lift our country together, which is why I urge every Ethiopian to join this effort!

What we set out to achieve in three years, we have accomplished in less than two. Since the launch of the 5 Million Ethiopian Coders Initiative on July 23, 2024, Ethiopia has reached 5,005,146 enrollments across Programming, Data Analysis, Android Development, and Artificial Intelligence fundamentals. This is our testament to our people's determination and limitless potential.
This milestone is not where our ambition ends, it is where it accelerates further. With 7 million enrollments by August 2026 firmly within our vision, I call upon every Ethiopian to be part of this national mission.
To our young students, this summer is your opportunity. Do not let it pass idly. Register, learn, and return to your classrooms not just as students, but as certified digital leaders. The courses are free, the certification is internationally recognized.

Last August, in partnership with the Dangote Group, we made significant progress by signing a landmark shareholders’ agreement for a fertilizer plant with a planned annual production capacity of 3 million metric tons of urea. In October 2025, we officially launched construction of the project.
This initiative represents far more than infrastructure. It is a strategic investment in Ethiopia’s agricultural transformation, food security, industrial growth, and economic self-reliance. Once completed, the fertilizer plant will play a vital role in strengthening local production capacity, reducing dependence on imports, supporting millions of farmers, and creating new opportunities for jobs and investment.
This morning, together with @AlikoDangote, I visited the project site in Gode to assess the progress achieved so far. I am encouraged by the steady momentum across the project area. Construction activities are advancing as planned across multiple sections of the site, reflecting the strong commitment and collaboration driving this important national project forward.

Ethiopia and United States of America today signed a Bilateral Structured Dialogue (BSD) Framework in Washington, D.C. aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries, while expanding opportunities for cooperation on bilateral, regional, and other issues of mutual interest.
The Framework was signed by Gedion Timothewos, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and T.H. Allison Hooker, Under Secretary for Political Affairs, on behalf of the United States.
The Bilateral Structured Dialogue Framework covers three key areas of cooperation: economic prosperity, trade and investment; defense and security cooperation; and regional peace and stability. It seeks to enhance economic and commercial ties through expanded trade and investment, strengthen security cooperation in support of mutual interests, and advance coordination on regional peace and security issues.

Once a neglected and hazardous area, the Arada district has been reimagined into a magnificent urban sanctuary.
For us, Ethiopia is not merely a dream to be envisioned, it is a reality to be built. We are building a nation that is healthy, resilient, and full of promise for future generations that is also a leader in Africa and a formidable competitor on the global stage. Each day, we continue to turn this promise into reality.
Summer irrigation farming represents an important step in our journey toward food self-sufficiency. With continued effort, commitment, and better use of our water resources, this path will surely lead us to a more secure and sustainable future where we can feed ourselves reliably.
One of the key areas we’ve been focusing on as a country is our irrigated maize farming, currently showing strong success.
These early results are a promising sign that our big goal is within reach: transforming Ethiopia into a nation that can feed itself and no longer rely on food aid.
As the COP32 host country, Ethiopia has embarked on early preparations through the formal establishment of the National Steering Committee. We have brought together key leadership to guide this process with clarity and purpose. The Presidency has already commenced its initial tasks, laying the foundation for what must be a coordinated and ambitious effort.
Today, I convened the National Steering Committee across sectors to assess progress made so far, identify gaps, and ensure that all efforts remain aligned with our national vision. This platform serves not only as a space for review, but also for collective direction-setting. Our focus is clear: to move forward cohesively, with strong coordination, unified ambition, and a shared commitment to excellence in hosting this global program.
“It is logical for #Ethiopia to seek access to the sea. I hope discussions in the region will take a meaningful step toward finding a solution,” Thierry Mariani, Member of the European Parliament (MEP), noted.
