Today, on Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day, police officers and peace officers across Canada come together to honour and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.
Yesterday, the RNCA Executive were pleased to visit Daffodil Place in St. John’s and make a donation to this very important service, which provides a home away from home for cancer patients and their families.
We are proud to support the important work they do in our community.

On behalf of the members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Association we wish to pass on our condolences to the members of the SJRFD on the passing of Jim O’Toole. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues.
Today, RNCA President Mike Summers and 2nd VP Shane McClafferty met with the Minister of Justice and Public Safety the Honourable Helen Conway Ottenheimer. A great conversation was had as we strive to improve public safety and ensure the well being of our member’s.
Did you know in 2025 the RNC generated 91,000 plus calls for service? This is the first time in our history where 90,000 has been surpassed and follows an increase of 22% from 2022 to 2024!

Today the RNCA had its Annual General Meeting discussing topics from staffing issues, the Uniformed Services Pension Plan, to upcoming negotiations and everything in between! It’s inspiring to hear the excellent work our members are doing in increasingly challenging circumstances
Last week, members of the RNC and RCMPNL welcomed women from Atlantic Canada, to St. John's, for the 2025 Atlantic in Women Law Enforcement conference. This event brought together women of law enforcement where there was a focus on; strong minds, strong bodies and strong women.
Thank you to all our members and other emergency responders who participated in the Sirens for Life blood drive. Each donation ensures blood is available for a person who needs it most!
Thank you to all our members who participated in the Polar Plunge 2025 this afternoon. This event is in support of Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador. Although it was a chilly swim it was well worth the cause!
