As an educator, I learned that to teach at a school where the administration is supportive of your visions truly dictates how well one can do their job and do so effectively.
I'm blessed that I can conjure a lesson and see it come to fruition with full support and admiration.

I'm still debating whether or not I should pull up to see Earl & The Alchemist tonight. I'm on Thanksgiving break, and I don't have to deal with these damn kids... but this rain, man.
Today, we started Othello.
I conducted an overview of the plot by employing elements of a paper I wrote in undergrad, in which I analyzed the historical significance of Othello and what it means to be "othered" through the lens of the Black experience.

The eyes began to widen as I illustrated the parallels.
A text/writer they were all fearful of has now become more approachable and relatable.
