There was a chill… it felt…. Like she truly wasn’t wanted around him. He’s so cold -
“Well, you know what they say… You can’t choose your family, heh..?”
God, kill her now please.
⠀
⠀ ˓˓ then you should reevaluate whom you keep close . ˒˒
words are spoken offhandedly , it could be said about anyone , but considering her ties to certain people —— it was a bit targeted .
⠀
“I can fight a bear! I’m sure I can do whatever you want, Master!”
Might as well give him a title of respect if he’s going to be teaching her. She’s so excited! She can’t wait to tell her dad!
“So, when do we start? What do you need me to do first?”
Seems like she’s -
Strange's expression remained composed, though the faintest amusement flickered in his eyes at her barely contained excitement .
❝ Don't look so surprised . ❞
He paused , raising an eyebrow . ⤸
There was a look of … shame, maybe? Uncertainty. Slight confusion. It was hard to tell. But, when the man’s words rang in her ears, she lifted her up to looked at him…
“Wait? Are you serious?”
There was a slow smile to spread along her lips.
“Does that mean.. that -
Strange watched her for a moment before giving a quiet nod.
❝ Good . ❞
His expression remained serious .
❝ Not knowing is more honest than pretending you do . ❞ ⤸
Sure yet… I want to say that my answer won’t change, but there’s no way to know how true that is until we actually get in that situation.
Anything could change. . . My views on the world, my family, what I know about.. reality… who I care about. So.. I don’t know.”
She found herself looking to the side. She has to admit, even she doesn’t know the answer to that. Would she be able to say the same thing if it was her dad? Her mom? Would she be able to sacrifice them for the sake of everyone else? She doesn’t know. . .
“I… I’m not —
Strange remained silent for a moment, studying her carefully .
❝ No . That’s not a bad answer . ❞
His gaze softened slightly .
❝ In fact, it’s exactly the answer I was looking for .
You didn’t want to sacrifice me.
You simply understood .. ⤸
My answer is the same… I would have to let you die… so the world can go on.. I wouldn’t 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 to. I would prefer to keep you alive, but… if I don’t have that choice…. I choose reality… is that a bad answer?”
She felt.. ashamed to say that…
Her family means a lot to her. But, she will say, she is particularly attached to her dad.
There was a sense of suspense that was caught in her throat. It stopped that soft purring almost instantly. The question that was asked was… heavy…
“…. I know what my dad’s -
A small smile , she seems to be very family orientated ~ he admires that a very respectable quality most do not seem to have .
❝ I see .. and My last Question before the results .. ❞
Taking a long pause for dramatic effect , his favourite Question .. ⤸
Answer would be… he doesn’t care about ‘the world.’ Only what’s his and what isn’t… but……”
She looked off to the side.
“If I were selfish.. and kept the ones I cared about alive while sacrificing everyone else… I think those I fought for would be ashamed of me… -
already! Coffee, cooking, cleaning up, I can do that easy!”
At this point, there is this faint motor like sound humming to life in her chest. A trait from her ‘feline,’ mutation. Purring.
She’s excitable. And very wild. But, given the right amount of patience, she manages! Seems that’s what she has right now.
“Oh. Thanks..”
Her name has a meaning, doesn’t it? She can’t think of it right now…
“Oh! Hell, yeah! I could do that! I do that for my dad -
A small smile across his voice , happy to see her calm and relaxed .
❝ hmm.. Astra Creed .. I like it . Very nice name indeed ... ❞
He has a pen and a note pad floating beside him , noting down information . ⤸
