Astrid's drawings: from the mind of an 11-year-old
@AstridsDrawings
Daily drawings by 11-year-old Astrid, a very enthusiastic young artist, curated by her dad, @Alistair_King. Unicorns | Princesses | Mermaids | Miscellaneous
Haven’t posted one of Astrid’s drawings for AGES but this, which she just brought over to show me, is wonderful. She turned 11 last month, by the way, just in case anyone is keeping track; I set up this account when she was seven. It’s interesting to plot her progress.
Four b+w pencil drawings of young women, which Astrid drew while I was away this weekend. She was so eager to show me, and I can see why. These the emojis she says describe them in turn: (🌸)(👒)(🤩)(🧚♀️✨).
Been a while since I’ve posted on here. My fault, not Astrid’s. Now 10-and-a-bit, she’s become more experimental in her work. Here, we have a strawberry, which is natural on its left side and pixelated on its right. Not her best recent picture but she asked me to tweet it.
@Alistair_King @APartridgeQOTD Hi there @APartridgeQOTD. This is my other account. You blocked @Alistair_King. Apologies, that reply was meant to be lighthearted. I didn’t really expect a prize and love your tweets. Very happy to delete mine if you like but it would be great if you were willing to unblock me.

Bit of a grudging effort from Astrid this morning when I asked her to finish her homework by drawing Socrates, who she’d been writing about. His expression seems to reflect her mood.
I’ve been a bit slack in uploading Astrid’s drawings recently but this one, the first I’ve tweeted since she recently turned 10, has to be seen. (I’ve found a tactful way to tell her that snowflakes have six points.)
Girl in a green ballgown. Over to Astrid:
"Umm just ignore the fact that she is not in the middle of the red carpet and that the chandelier is not in the middle either 😤 but everything else is ok I guess?"
New drawing; explanation from Astrid (neither of us knows what an OC is): "I saw something on YouTube that said how to make a fruit OC and mine turned out to be a lemon girl 🍋! One of the things the video said was make the outfit your favourite fruit and mine is raspberries😁."
Astrid has asked me to say that this is what Barbie’s baby would look like if she had one as she’s not convinced the likeness with Barbie herself is strong enough.
