In her remarks, Dr. Priscilla Muheki (Organizer and Astrophysicist) shared:
"It is truly inspiring to see so many bright young minds and dedicated teachers gathered here today.
This is your opportunity to explore new ideas, ask big questions, and transform curiosity into discovery. Science fairs like this remind us that science is not just something we learn from books.
It is something we experience firsthand as we strive to understand and improve the world around us."
In his remarks, Dr. David Okot Kilama, Head of the Physics Department, offered a message of empowerment and gratitude.
He told the students that by simply being present, they had already achieved a significant victory. He extended his deep appreciation to the teachers for their phenomenal work in mentoring such brilliant students and thanked the students themselves for being open to guidance.
Dr. David closed with a powerful charge to the youth, noting that whether they are breaking the outdated myth that science is "only for men" or standing firm in their personal values, their journey ultimately begins with their own initiative.

Today, @MbararaUST was buzzing with energy as we hosted 15 secondary schools for an inspiring Science Fair.
This event aligns with the UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science, celebrated every February 11th to bridge the gender gap in STEM and dismantle myths about women in the sciences.
In her remarks, Dr. Eunice Olet, Dean of the Faculty of Science, offered a powerful call to resilience and purpose.
She encouraged the students to maintain the courage to move forward even when they encounter setbacks, noting that their determination today is what will ensure a "better landing" in the future.
Dr. Olet urged the youth to seek a deep understanding of science to dispel fear, reminding them that as the future of Uganda, they are the ones who must champion innovative solutions for global challenges like healthcare and climate change.
Prof.Pauline Byakika-Kibwika, the Vice Chancellor, emphasized that success in the scientific field is built on a foundation of focus, discipline, and passion.
She challenged the students to work hard for their own growth, build their self-esteem, and remain endlessly curious, noting that in a world driven by evolution and competency-based learning, they each possess the potential to become great leaders.
