World, meet my new setup. I think we’re going to be very happy together. Until next week when I see something else I just absolutely have to... ooh, that camera looks nice...
@MrJacobSheppard Gassed themselves in the first 20, then, chasing a scoreline, abandoned the game plan, and pulled each offensive play out their arse. That was my reading of it anyway 😂
@MrJacobSheppard Was a great experience, managed to cram the games, Death Vally, Valley of Fire, Zion National Park and Hoover Dam into a handful of days. Would never have gone there if not for the footy.
@MrJacobSheppard@LambrettaGP1971 Depends how you define ‘best’. If we just want a system where one man does what’s best for the people, scrap the government.
That’s no longer the kings role. He’s now just our last line of defence against the government. But there is value in his charitable work.
@MrJacobSheppard@LambrettaGP1971 I get it, I really do. But it makes over £1bn for treasury every year. How many hungry mouths does that feed? And the King doesn’t make the laws. It’s the government not feeding them, not the king. They’d rather spend money on other things. Active choice by the government.
@LambrettaGP1971@MrJacobSheppard He doesn’t decide his pay. Crown Estate pays 100% of its profit to Treasury. Treasury in return give back between 15-25% of that depending on costs that will be incurred in the next year, for example building repairs. Meaning Crown Estate pays an effective tax rate of 75-85%
@LambrettaGP1971@MrJacobSheppard They do own a LOT of personal land/property. Separate to the Crown Estate. It’s about 200,000 acres in the UK I think. And they make millions from it. But, as you rightly pointed out, they pay tax on that. And 100% tax on Crown Estate profits.
@alex_read13@sophielouisecc It does have a purpose. It’s also a moral tax. It is designed to stop the wealthy getting exponentially richer. It only affects 5% of people, thus the wealthiest 5%. Any removal of it will literally only help the rich get richer.
@anoceanian@nat_sinclair93 Dragons never won again after the limited tackle set came in (well, until about 1977). Was a completely different game. Panthers achievement greater than theirs in my opinion.
