And I've updated my list of astronomy journals that publishes anything at all: ApJ, MNRAS, NatAst, A&A.
No comment on which is preferable, but feel we under-appreciate just how different astro publishing is to many/most other fields.
If I were drawing a map of the course of the 1588 Armada, I would simply not include Manchester. Or Belgium. Or the United Kingdom. Or the quaint Suffolk fishing village of Birmingham.
Academic job market candidates:
PLEASE add a line to the front page of your website that says something like "I am on the 2024-25 academic job market."
This might sound silly but it makes it much easier to tell who is looking for a job now.
