**Weekly & Yearly Crypto Review for 2024 #Bitcoin #Cryptocurrencies**

My horoscope from last week was somewhat accurate but not enough. Expected more volatility. The week saw a temporary spike, but bulls couldn't keep the price near $100k. Low trading volumes left more room for manipulation, likely influenced by Asia.

I read forecasts from at least 20 VCs, analytical platforms, and crypto VIPs. Most see Q3 as the peak when Bitcoin might hit its highest price this year, coinciding with Microstrategy potentially joining the S&P500. Ethereum, AI, DeFi, and memecoins dominate predictions. Here’s my TOP 7 for 2025:

1. **AI Infrastructure** - Platforms like Virtuals for building AI agents. I wrote about this at ~$0.5. Room for growth but check the competition.

2. **Solana** - Undervalued blockchain with user growth, adaptability, and community size. Could be a dark horse with potential ETF approval.

3. **Privacy Coins** - Like Secret Network. With Mica and US regulations, privacy coins like Monero might see increased attention.

4. **Blockchain Gaming** - No clear leader yet, but expect an AI-driven blockchain game to shake up the market.

5. **DeFi & Wallet Tokens** - Uncertainty with Mica might push more users towards decentralized exchanges, increasing risks and rewards.

6. **Dogecoin** - Musk's vision for a WeChat-like service in China might use Doge for payments, or stablecoins on another blockchain like Lightning Network.

7. **Memecoins** - The cycle continues with new platforms, but regulation might ironically make them seem safer, boosted by AI for project economy.

Horoscope for next week: The impact of Mica and US regulations might deter aggressive Bitcoin price hikes. Expect a red week with Bitcoin potentially below $90k.

Underestimated Projects

This time, I'm talking about @Balancer . Why do I think its future is bright? First off, because I use it and see it as a good, quality product.

- Balancer: Once trading at nearly $75, now hovering around $2.25. You might call it a dead shitcoin? I've done some reading, digging, and AI-assisted analysis. Here's why I'm not writing it off:

1. Technological Advancements: Since its peak in 2021, Balancer hasn't just kept up; it's enhanced its offerings with features like Booted pools, integrations with AAVE, and a push towards DAO2DAO, encouraging other protocols to build on top of it.

2. Market Valuation: With a market cap of $135 million, the token seems like a good buy before the holidays. Only 6.46% of tokens are locked up, and nearly 80% are held by whales who are not keen on selling at a loss.

3. Balancer V3 Update: Expected by the end of 2024, the "Balancer Maxis" team outlined in October's report a comprehensive launch plan for v3, including a new fee model, chain launch strategy, and pool strategy design. Sounds like a bullish scenario to me!

4. Exchange Presence: BAL is listed on major exchanges like Binance, Coinbase, KuCoin, OKX, and more. Just needs a signal, and "let's roll, Jessica." The tech step has been taken; it just needs more publicity.

What's Not So Great:

1. Lack of Solana Integration: If there were any whispers about integrating with Solana, that would be a "Molotov cocktail" for excitement. Sadly, no hints or official statements. Balancer could smarten up and announce such future plans. However, it's adapting to Ethereum Layer 2 trends: Optimism, Arbitrum, Base, Gnosis, Polygon, and others.

2. Competition: Since 2021, competition in DeFi has grown significantly. Creating something like Balancer today might not be feasible with its current valuation. Competitors like Uniswap, Sushiswap, and Curve also show significant losses from their highs. We might need a general DeFi sector uplift, which could take a while as the current craze is all about meme coins. No one's stirring up DeFi trends from thin air. The frenzy around cat, dog, and squirrel tokens needs to settle. And no one knows when that will happen. Maybe they don't even interfere with each other.

So, here's the deal: Balancer could be the DeFi guide everyone forgot about because they were too busy chasing meme coins. But in the unpredictable world of crypto, today’s overlooked opportunity could be tomorrow’s big success.
