Power out and cold? Small personal heat setup — not room heat.
Oil lamp + tea lights on a metal tray + foil reflector behind them. Warmth for your hands, not a heated room.

@WarMonitor3 There are reports that potassium iodide has been dispensed to the Russian soldiers on the Ukrainian front with the border to Iran (because of potential nuclear fallout if the United States or Israel uses nuclear weapons on Iran).
This is when situational awareness needs to take over, and proper training. People with a gun need to train and need to be aware of their surroundings. It is so important. 911 is not going to save you in an instant. It'll save you if there's time. What this man did was heroic, and it was the proper thing to do. Calling 911, letting them know the situation, and then taking things into his own hands was the proper execution of this situation, and it saved a lot of lives. Remember, people: stay ready.
A cardboard-box solar oven cooks with no fuel. On a sunny day it can hit 200 to 300° — even in winter.
Save this. What would you cook first in a sun oven?

Family of four, two weeks: 56 gallons.
Pets count too. Start with one case this weekend and build from there.

A solar still makes water from the ground and the sun. Expect cups, not gallons. In dry soil it can give you less water than you sweat out digging it. Store water and catch rain first. If in doubt, treat the water.
