Yesterday, I had the honour of attending the 20th Anniversary Lecture and Celebration of the Crystal Muslim Organization (CMO), held at the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, Abuja. The event, which also featured the launch of the maiden edition of the Crystal Magazine, marked two decades of remarkable service, intellectual engagement, and community development by the organization. It was an honour to share the stage with Sheikh Mohammed Salah, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Governor Dikko Rada, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir (who was exceedingly generous and kind), and my father, His Excellency, Governor Aminu Masari.
On behalf of the people of Kaduna, we pledged and immediately donated the sum of 1.5 million naira to the 3.5 hectare cemetery in Katsina and some of the magazines. I was privileged to participate as the Guest of Honour at this significant milestone, celebrating an organization that has remained steadfast in its commitment to education, youth empowerment, and service to humanity over the past twenty years.
The theme of the anniversary lecture, "Pen and Revelation: The Sacred Role of Reading and Writing in Islam," was both timely and profound, reminding us of the central role that knowledge and learning play in the advancement of society.
I particularly commend the Crystal Muslim Organization for its sustained investment in young people through educational initiatives, intellectual engagement, and humanitarian service. Their work over the past two decades is a testament to the impact of visionary leadership, and strong values.
I congratulate the leadership, members, and supporters of CMO on this remarkable achievement and pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) continues to bless their efforts and grant them even greater impact in the years ahead.

The ever brilliant Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi Muhammad II, the Emir of Kano (our father), and King of the North. I have not enjoyed a public lecture such as this in a long time. Kudos to @NildsNigeria, the entire team under DG, Abubakar O. Suleiman and the whole team. The subject was on the proposed ‘Eco Currency and Monetary Integration in West Africa: Implications for Nigeria. I am attending as the Chairman of the Banking Regulations Committee of the 10th House of Representatives.
I am deeply saddened and horrified by the brutal lynching of Teacher Ummulkhairi on Sunday, 21st June 2026, in Kaduna. An innocent woman whose only “offence” was asking for directions to attend a lecture, was subjected to an act of unimaginable cruelty. This barbaric act is a stain on our collective conscience. No suspicion or allegation without evidence can ever justify mob violence. The sanctity of human life is fundamental to both our faith and our laws, yet she was denied due process and killed in the most inhumane manner.
Equally disturbing is the reported presence of security personnel at the scene, yet without effective intervention. Every Nigerian deserves the full protection of the law, and jungle justice must never be normalised under any circumstances.
Beyond this incident, I strongly condemn the rising pattern of mob violence across the country, often fuelled by rumours, misinformation, and instant judgment. No society can thrive where citizens take the law into their own hands.
I call on security agencies to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation and ensure that all those responsible, direct perpetrators, instigators, and any negligent actors are brought to justice. Stronger preventive measures must also be urgently put in place to prevent a recurrence.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings, grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus, and comfort her loved ones.May justice prevail.

Under the leadership of my elder brother, Captain Jamil MD Abubakar and alongside like minds like Mohammed Jamal, we created this fund to support MSMEs and entrepreneurs that are based in the Northern region. I believe the fund currently stands at 100 million naira. An independent and non partisan set of judges will pick the successful applicants. I urge entrepreneurs from Kaduna North to key in and follow the process. Thank you.

Earlier today, we distributed 100 water pumping machines to beneficiaries across Kaduna North Federal Constituency. The beneficiaries, comprising mainly farmers and other deserving members of the community, received the equipment as part of ongoing efforts to enhance agricultural productivity, particularly through irrigation farming.
Kaduna North is largely urban so agriculture is not always something we focus on. This intervention is aimed at supporting farmers to increase crop production, improve their livelihoods, and strengthen food security within the constituency. It also complements the earlier distribution of fertilizers to farmers, further demonstrating our commitment to the empowerment and development of the agricultural sector in Kaduna North Federal Constituency.
In each of the 12 Wards, a committee of three, two stakeholders and the ADC Chairmen chose the beneficiaries. Each Ward produced 8 beneficiaries. A total of 96. The other four were given at my discretion to 4 of my advisers. Kudos to the committee members under the guidance of my Private Secretary, Al Amin Yakubu.

If you have five minutes with the next Governor of Kaduna State, what is the first issue you would ask him to solve?
As we prepare for a new chapter in our state, I want to hear directly from you.
