My strongest #GeneralConference take is that the church should wholly divest from Deseret Book and that "General Conference sales" from any company are an abomination. That Deseret Book commercial emphasizing Easter by buying stuff is terrible.

My original point was that single mother and almost everyone have heavy hearts. Having to prepare a talk is something almost everyone dreads. We have no way of knowing how much work was put into it.

@kateiswell Maybe not. But it could be their very first time or had genuine reasons. To co-op Elder Uchtdorf, “Don’t judge me because I prepare differently than you.”

An encouraging word after the talk does more than any admonition.

@MrGreyShirt They’re being truthful though and I bet most find it comforting because most have the same fear. You can nitpick at every talk, even those in general conference, or you can enjoy them for what they are — imperfect children of our Father doing their best.
