Colombia prohíbe la mutilación genital femenina

En las montañas del occidente de Colombia, niñas indígenas han sido sometidas durante generaciones a una práctica que mutila sus cuerpos desde que nacen. Una práctica que sus propias comunidades intentaron ocultar bajo el nombre de tradición. Pero que las mujeres que la sufrieron decidieron combatir desde adentro. Esta semana, su lucha llegó al Congreso y se convirtió en la primera ley contra la mutilación genital femenina en toda América Latina.

🚨 ANOTHER NYC CARRIAGE HORSE IS
DEAD 🚨

This heartbreaking footage was taken in Central Park and shows Deniz, a 16-year-old carriage horse, taking his final breaths after collapsing while pulling passengers.

Join us Wednesday, June 10 at 12 PM on the steps of City Hall for a major rally reintroducing Ryder's Law and demanding that the New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin, and Mayor Zohran Mamdani advance and pass Ryder's Law to end this horrific suffering once and for all. Tonight's tragic and preventable death is a devastating reminder that this legislation cannot wait.

Horrified New Yorkers watched as Deniz struggled in agony before dying in front of a crowd of shocked and heartbroken witnesses. Some were crying and hugging one another as they watched.

No horse should suffer and die this way in the middle of New York City.

Deniz's death underscores the urgent need to pass Ryder's Law before another horse is killed or more people are injured.

Ayer, nacieron dos leoncitos blancos en el zoológico de Las Delicias, Maracay. Están en buen estado de salud.
Ya en noviembre de 2023 habían nacido otros tres, de los cuales uno falleció.

Deniz was 16. He was used to pull carriages around central park so his human could make money. All day, every day. Deniz collapsed and died on the pavement in the park yesterday. Yet another in a long of these horses to die in NYC so people can exploit them. This practice should be outlawed. It’s selfish and unnecessary.

BREAKING: Undercover footage shows the nightmarish warehouse cells where NYC carriage horses are trapped in deplorable conditions when not in dangerous NYC traffic.

These poor animals have a HORRIFIC LIFE of walking the busy streets , in and out of congested traffic in hot and cold temperatures. These horses NEVER touch grass, never graze in pastures and no socialization with other horses .

They have NO pasture for grazing and interacting with other horses as herd animals NEED to be healthy and they are denied proper veterinary care.
