"I call him the General. He is a general. He is a great general—so great that he is actually field marshal, a step above."
— President Trump praises Pakistan's military chief Syed Asim Munir
Pakistan should thank the U.S. for getting it a role in Bangladesh once again.
But that doesn't mean that there won't be sticks along with carrots.
Similarly, US-India partnership will continue to strengthen but so will US-India rivalry in some domains. After all, if the idea is to counter China's growth, then most certainly India cannot be allowed to replace China, at least not with its non-aligned policy.
Simply put, the US has it figured out which screws to tighten in case of which country.
Pakistan has Afghanistan to keep it in check while India now has Bangladesh to keep it in check. Iykyk.
So this is meant that US once again demanding from Pakistan that you are with us or not. Yes or No against new regime change war to be started in IRAN....?
People are asking me what changed that Washington is suddenly worried about the Pakistani missile program again? And is there an Israel angle to it too?
Well, Washington never really stopped worrying about it since the 90s in the first place. But now this is a post Oct 7th world. That one event was as big as 9/11 and will prove to be as impactful for global geopolitics as 9/11.
Do you guys now understand why I have ignored other regions like Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, etc I used to work on and have been entirely focused on the Middle East since Oct 7th? Yes, you do understand now, don't you.
Pakistani missiles are obviously not a direct threat to the US, as in they cannot reach US mainland. As long as Pakistani missiles can reach India, it's all good. But the moment Pakistani missiles extend their range to places beyond India, especially Israel, that would be a problem and the international community will make things difficult for Pakistan in that case. Pakistan knows this. Notice the latest response from Pakistani Foreign Office. Their statement says that Pakistani nuclear and missile program is solely meant to balance power in its neighborhood (hint towards India) and isn't meant for another country (hint towards Israel). But such statements are not enough when Pakistan's own former defense minister once tweeted nuclear threat against Israel. That wasn't very long ago.
To be fair, Pakistan also has itself to blame here. What was the reaction in Pakistan when Oct 7th happened? The general reaction was of pure joy, as was the case for the most of the Muslim world. Do you think nobody noticed that? What has Pakistan been up to since Oct 7th? Pakistan, along with some other Muslim countries, have consistently condemned Israel while not condemning the Oct 7th massacre itself.
Believe me, everything is noted. And Israel and its allies will act accordingly.
The best chance Pakistan has here is to clamp down on homegrown radicalisation and pave the way to join the Abraham Accords with sincerity. If Pakistan does that, there are many good things in store for Pakistan. If not, Pakistan should fasten its seatbelt because it's going to be a very bumpy ride.
Enjoy.

Is it a solution to ask police & government officials not to travel in some areas of the KPK province? If terrorists are planning to kidnap govt officials in some districts of KPK then what is the solution? Provincial & federal governments should stop fighting with each other.
