Today marks the first day of the last month of our school year! Each day during May, we are celebrating what makes our Atlanta Academy Community special. Our PK4 class discussed who they wanted to be when they grew up and why.
Can you believe it? Our Kindergarten students are celebrating their End of Year ABC Countdown. Today, we celebrate the letter E and exercise our bodies and brains! How energizing!
Flying drones in STEAM is not only fun, but it engages our middle school students by fostering executive functioning skills like patience, collaboration and teamwork, critical thinking, and focus.
Mrs. Salas' 3rd grade had a DYNO-MITE time in Science, exploring Earth from many different perspectives. They studied fossils and other rocks that are found on our planet. The students then created their own fossil and pet rock as an awesome reminder of their adventures!
Counting eggs, identifying colors, and working on our gross motor skills in the gorgeous sunshine was so much fun (and educational) for our PK3 students! Who knew throwing eggs filled with paint could be an academic activity?
Mrs. Robinsonβs 1st-grade class embarked on a Lewis and Clark-inspired science and writing expedition. Our explorers took meticulous notes and created detailed journal entries about their explorations of uncharted land and nature. What a fun adventure!
Thank you @DelaneyRuston for an amazing discussion this morning around @ScreenagerMovie. We keep HOPE as parents. Thank you for all of your guidance around this important topic.
PK4 went on a scavenger hunt for Black History Month. We first discussed different innovators, their inventions, and how they are used. They then set out on an adventure to locate the items, including a clock, lamp, guitar, pencil sharpener, and even some potato chips!
Jr. K-3 embarked on a writing journey that fostered critical life skills of persistence, determination, and self-confidence. Teachers guided discussions about the power of believing in yourself in order to move forward. The BEST is YET to come for our Atlanta Academy Gladiators!
Atlanta Academy students are taking part in #GreatKindnessChallenge, a week dedicated to programs that promote positive school culture and climate through an emphasis on kindness. Each day, Gladiators will share what kindness means to them. #KindnessUnites
Our Middle School Global Leadership class discussed service on MLK Day and how it should be observed as a "day on, not a day off." The students wrote letters to essential workers, isolated seniors, and people facing homelessness.
OOur PK4 students read a story about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and discussed how he made the world a better place for all people, no matter their appearance. We then created our own worlds and talked about how we could make the world a better or happier place.
Happy Thanksgiving from our little Gladiator turkeys. May this day bring new traditions (or a twist on the old) and moments of happiness, love, and gratitude.
Our Gladiators make us so proud every day. Rahul honored our Veterans today by dressing in his uniform. Thank you, Rahul, for lifting others with your compassionate and generous spirit!
