Atlantis hosted its Annual Community Service Day at Adventure Learning Centre on Saturday November 9. This event is more than a single day of service; it is the culmination of several weeks of dedicated work by our team members and partners, who have volunteered.
This week, after final assessments, weight and measurements Lefty was released by the Atlantis team near Green Cay, where a local green turtle population call home.
โLeftyโ as he was affectionately named by Atlantis' rescue and rehabilitative team went through a procedure to address his injuries. Over the course of several months' lefty bounced back to health due to the special care at Atlantis and proved to their team that he was ready.

The Special Education Unit comprises the Erin Gilmore School for the Blind, the Center for the Deaf, the Stapledon School, the Bahamas Association for the Physically Disabled, the Beacon School in Freeport, 16 primary units, eight junior high units and four senior high schools.
Atlantis donated the sole prize package raffled off at the Ministry of Education's inaugural Special Education Awards Banquet, which marked the end of Special Education Week from May 27 to June 1.
Shannon Williams, a P.E. teacher at C.C. Sweeting won dinner for two at Cafรฉ Martinique while Romona Moxey-Obilor, a teacher aide at the Center for the Deaf won dinner for two at Fish by Josรฉ Andrรฉs.
