Empowering the Future: Investing in Our People

As part of my commitment to creating practical opportunities for the people of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II, I empowered 100 women, men and youths through a three-day entrepreneurship training programme themed “Empowering the Future.”

The programme was organised in collaboration with the Federal Co-operative College, Oji-River, and provided participants with practical business and entrepreneurship skills, business materials, and a total of ₦10 million in start-up grants.

At the end of the programme, each beneficiary received ₦100,000 paid directly into their account, alongside relevant tools and materials to enable them start or expand their businesses.

My objective is clear: I want the people I represent to have access to opportunities that can translate into sustainable livelihoods. This intervention is therefore not just about training or certificates; it is about equipping beneficiaries with the resources and knowledge required to build viable businesses, generate income and create opportunities for others.

I also appealed to the beneficiaries to make responsible use of the grants and materials provided. I specifically urged them not to sell the empowerment items, because the purpose of the intervention is to support productive economic activity and long-term sustainability.

My office will therefore continue to follow up with the beneficiaries in the coming months to better understand the progress of their businesses and the impact of the intervention.

This is my commitment to practical representation-creating opportunities, empowering our people and investing in a more economically productive Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II.

Gateway Deep Sea Port Construction Begins in November

We are pleased to announce that construction of the over $7 billion Gateway Deep Sea Port and Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone in Ogun Waterside will commence in November, immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony.

Following the signing of the MoU with DP World MEA FZE in Paris, witnessed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we are moving decisively from planning to implementation. We expect the port to be substantially completed within two and a half years.

This transformational project will unlock the enormous maritime and economic potential of Ogun State, attract major investments, create jobs and position Ogun Waterside and our State as a major maritime hub in West Africa.

We are equally encouraged by the rehabilitation of the Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode–Ore Road and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, which will further strengthen connectivity and economic activities across Ogun East.

Beyond maritime development, we remain committed to harnessing the vast bitumen deposits within the Ijebu East axis and exploring the crude oil potential identified in parts of our State.

We deeply appreciate President Tinubu for his unwavering support and commitment to this historic project. Our administration will continue to combine vision with implementation to unlock opportunities, attract investment and deliver sustainable prosperity for the people of Ogun State.
