I never imagined I'd be the one asking for help.
I've spent my life on the other side checking pulses, holding hands, telling patients "you'll be okay." Today, I'm the one who needs to hear that.

This is Day One of appealing to my 30 Followers,online community and well-wishers to help me raise the Sh6 million needed for my kidney transplant.

Kenyatta National Hospital cut down trees with active bird nests over the weekend. Some died and more were injured. KNH then issued a public statement claiming they are "working with authorities" on the welfare of the injured birds which is a lie.

No authority responded. The birds were rescued and are being cared for by a wildlife rescuer, at their own expense, while KNH takes credit in a press statement for work they did not do. They have not contributed at all to the welfare of the birds and this speaks to a deeper problem.

They did it on a weekend when NEMA and KFS offices are closed, when there is no one to inspect, no one to stop the chainsaws, and no one to hold anyone accountable.

Weekend tree cutting has become a familiar tactic in Kenya precisely because enforcement disappears on Saturdays and Sundays.

Did KNH have a valid permit to cut these trees? If so, who issued it, NEMA or KFS, and did they inspect the trees beforehand?

Nesting activity is visible. Active nests are not hard to spot. If a permit was issued despite that, someone signed off on this knowing birds were there.

If a permit did exist, NEMA and KFS owe the public an explanation for how it was approved without any environmental or ecological check on active nesting sites.

KNH does not get to issue a statement claiming welfare action it did not take, while a private individual absorbs the actual cost and labour of caring for the birds their tree felling harmed.

Did KNH hold a valid tree cutting permit and if so they should make it public.
Which agency issued it, and on what basis?

Will KNH now cover the costs of caring for the birds their actions harmed?

🚨 There’s a SACCO bill in Parliament today, and most Kenyans don’t even know what’s coming.

Quietly... with almost no public attention…
A system is being introduced that will centralize SACCO money, and Govt will now have a massive say in it.

Think of it as a “Super SACCO” for all SACCOs.

It will:
- Hold funds from different SACCOs
- Manage liquidity
- Run payments
- Lend to SACCOs
- Invest your money

Sounds safe? Here’s the reality:
❗ SACCOs could lose some operational independence
❗ Oversight becomes much heavier (via Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority)
❗ Leaders must meet “fit & proper” approval
❗ Strict reporting & constant supervision

And yes, this could mean slower access to your money in some situations.
Now the part they won’t emphasize:

Your savings are only protected up to KSh 100,000

If a SACCO collapses?
Anything above that = your risk.

Even worse:

⚠️ Payouts are NOT immediate
⚠️ Must be approved & gazetted first
⚠️ You could wait while your money is locked

So ask yourself:
Why centralize SACCO money...
But limit protection for members?

This bill is being sold as “safety.”
But it also introduces control by the government, delays, and new risks for ordinary Kenyans.

This is how systems change,
slowly, quietly... then permanently
