🚨 NCAA Votes to Eliminate Altitude & Track Conversions🚨

The NCAA Track & Field Committee has officially voted to eliminate altitude and indoor track conversions beginning with the 2026–27 academic year.

The discussion centered around the fact that altitude affects every athlete differently, so having a uniform conversion is difficult to justify. The committee also noted that no conversions exist for other weather factors like heat or humidity, and altitude conversions are not used at other levels.

For indoor track indexing, the committee cited a lack of scientific support behind the current conversion tables, as well as improved access to 200m banked tracks.
