Proud moment for ATREE as Dr. Monsoon Jyoti Gogoi has documented an impressive 446 butterflies species from Kaziranga, making it the second highest butterfly diversity of protected areas in India, after Namdapha. Of these 18 species are new additions to India's butterfly records.
During rains, snakes like the Himalayan bronzeback tree snake (Dendralaphis biloreatus) face deadly roads. Inhabitants of trees,they risk crossing roads for safer habitats or breeding. Not just snakes—amphibians, insects, and reptiles are vulnerable too.

A rare visitor at ATREE-Siang field station: A Banded Redeye (Gangara lebadea) butterfly belonging to family Hesperiidae was the visitor. In India this butterfly occurs only along the Eastern Himalayan foothills. The larval host plants are of Apocynaceae & Arecaceae families.

1st day of the great backyard bird count organized by ATREE_Siang.35 college students joined in, using Merlin & field guides to ID Pasighat's birds! Recorded 20 sightings on e-bird in Diking. They were excited to know the names of the birds they saw commonly but couldn’t identify
