Renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr Richard Steadman, has passed away. He was not only a pioneer of sports medicine and orthopedic surgery, but he was one of the first and fiercest proponents of athletic trainers working in the physician practice setting.
Wrapping the community of #Uvalde in love as they process the tragedy that struck today. Praying for them as they navigate through today, and the days to come.
Mental Health Awareness month - a time to reflect on the mental health and wellness of those charged with the care of student athletes at all levels. We need to support our athletic healthcare professionals - especially athletic trainers. Enough talk more action needed. Period.

We’ve long been taught to believe that asking for help is a sign of weakness, when in reality the opposite is the truth. Admitting to struggle & seeking help when needed is a sign of strength. It’s okay to struggle & it’s even more okay to get help. #YouMatter

Someone needs to read this. Maybe you’re a coach, an AT, an educator, or even a student athlete. The person should come first, always. We need to set aside the student and athlete identity and take care of the person underneath. Without “the person” we have nothing. #YouMatter 🤍
