I've been really enjoying taking my time while playing Final Fantasy XIV this time around. I think I've almost finished base Heavensward and I'm so invested in the story that I've started writing lore about my character
@AmazonHelp I just want to know how you expect me to return an undelivered package after I requested a replacement for it not being fucking delivered. It's a simple question
Before covid, I didn't follow politics.
I would have been an easy target for the No campaign because I trusted media and didn't question information.
Like many Covid-era Victorians, my journey in recent years has left me acutely aware of how dishonest and deceptive right-wing campaigns and media are. But I can recall in my 20s, and this is embarrassing to admit, I believed Clive Palmer should be PM, and I hated Julia Gillard's carbon tax (that didn't exist). I didn't know why I hated it, just that I should.
My point is, be careful not to rush to blame the people for this referendum result, or at least don't assume the worst about racism or intelligence — many No voters are good people trusting bad sources.
Blame the sources. The No campaign made masterful use of deceptive and manipulative misinformation — and they had extraordinary one-sided support from most major media outlets.
Add in the sophisticated targeting tech and top-dollar US marketing firms used by the No campaign, and it becomes clear that most politically disengaged folks were easy targets.
I have this thing where even though I’ve spoken to or seen people online multiple times I think they don’t recognise me. This means I spot people and don’t always say hi bc I just don’t want to bother them 😅
I did a lot of this at PAX and I’m worried if I’ve upset anyone 🥲
