The study concludes that bryophyte cover and macrolichen richness are goods metric for assessing stone wall habitat quality, while farm management intensity and altitude emerged as the strongest predictors of this richness and cover.

Researchers from @MfrcATU, @teagasc, @uniofgalway and @CREAF_ecologia, including Sara Ruas, set out to assess the ecological quality of stone walls in Irish agricultural landscapes by measuring the richness and cover of bryophytes and macrolichens in these habitats.

All three articles contribute to our understanding of the prevalence of microplastics in Ireland's aquatic habitants, an important bedrock for proposing solutions to the issue at national and international governmental levels.
A third paper, from 2020, saw James O'Connor and his co-authors examine the prevalence of microplastics in brown trout in an Irish river system.
