I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the ‘hidden curriculum’ of #academia. The jargon, expectations, and insider info that can put students (esp #FirstGen) at a disadvantage. So #AcademicTwitter what did it seem like others knew and you didn’t when you came to University?
🙏🏿
This is a good opportunity to share that you can also find different kinds of useful geoscience related resources for teaching and research at https://t.co/LO5IqQ9X68

Disabled women are underrepresented everywhere. They are more likely to be sexually harassed & less likely to be employed. This is even worse for disabled women of colour & those with other marginalised identities
Today we urge everyone to include intersectionality in their work

asking students of color to lead your DEI committee and then not providing them with a professional writing coach & waiving other requirements (courses, TAs, other service) is a form of harm. the call is coming from inside the house. PICK IT UP!
