The Justice Department moved to drop its criminal case against former Olympian David Hearn, accusing him of purposely vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on the National Mall. The department cited new information that the damage "was the result of flawed installation by the contractor" and "the rush to complete the project prior to" America 250 celebration events.

"It was not until after these documents were produced that USAO-DC (the U.S. Attorney's Office in D.C.) first became aware of information showing that the damage was the result of a botched installation and not vandalism as initially represented by DOI (the Department of the Interior)," U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro wrote in a court filing released Friday.

Earlier this month, Hearn, who competed for the U.S. as a canoeist in three Summer Olympics, pleaded not guilty to one felony count of property destruction.

Hearn's attorneys said after the case was dropped that the Trump administration owed their client an apology.

“Its dismissal today does not erase the abuse of government power in arresting and charging a patriotic American who did nothing wrong. The government’s approach was ready, fire, aim," they said.

According to a new Politico poll, 2/3 of the Americans who voted for Trump during the last presidential election said that they'd support a Republican politician even if "a former partner has accused the Republican candidate of sexual assault” if the alternative were a Democrat.

These are the very same people who lecture the rest of about "family families." Right-wing media ran breathless, gleeful coverage of the sexual misconduct allegations leveled against Graham Platner. But the difference is that Democrats abandon our politicians when they're revealed to be predators. Republicans close ranks because they have no moral core.

Only 25% of MAGA supporters said that they'd rather not vote than vote for an accused sexual abuser over a Democrat. A paltry 9% said that they'd support the hypothetical scandal-free Democrat.

But again, this isn’t surprising. Donald Trump is an adjudicated rapist, proud sexual predator, and likely pedophile with more connections to Jeffrey Epstein than just about anyone else. And these people worship him.

The simple truth is that MAGA doesn’t believe in good and evil in a meaningful sense. They believe in exercising raw power against anyone they hate, which is what Trump offers them. At the same time, many of them view women as objects so sexual abuse is really just not a big deal to them.

So the next time that a Republican accuses you with rage in their eyes, veins popping out in their neck, and finger shaking of thinking that you’re “morally superior” to them, reply with a simple “Yes.”

Yes, we are morally superior to people who willingly support a political movement that not only excuses, but encourages predatory behavior.

We don’t support sexual abusers.

We don’t follow a cult led by an Epstein associate.

We are not MAGA.

DON’T FORGET: During the Biden-Harris administration — Congress had a BIPARTISAN bill that would’ve made the biggest increase in border security in decades — but, at the last minute, every Republican decided to vote no because a private citizen told them to.

His name was Donald J. Trump.

The 2024 bipartisan border bill — backed by Biden & Harris — was a $118 billion emergency package aimed at strengthening border security, reducing asylum backlogs, and capping daily migrant crossings.

It allowed — or, rather, mandated — DHS to close the border to most migrants if daily encounters averaged more than 4,000–5,000 per week.

It also significantly tightened asylum eligibility standards and expedited processing times — aiming to decide cases in months rather than years.

The package would’ve provided $20 billion for border initiatives — including new asylum officers, 100+ immigration judges, and increased detention capacity.

It had UNANIMOUS support and was about to be passed… until Trump threw a fit, didn’t want to give Biden a “win,” and threatened Republicans into voting “no.”

MAGA would rather run on a problem than fix it.

Why Fauci Pleading the Fifth Was the Smartest Legal Decision Made in That Room

They put an 85-year-old man under subpoena, dumped a thousand pages of his private diary to the press over the weekend, then acted offended when he arrived with lawyers instead of a confession.

Twenty-four words. He said them 106 times. This from a man who briefed Congress more than 200 times across four decades.

The Fifth is not guilt. It is the only correct answer when the chairman has publicly posted his intent to see you prosecuted and the HHS Secretary spends the week promising perjury charges if you speak. They built a trap, then complained he refused to step in it.

Paul’s crowd says the Biden pardon leaves no risk, so no privilege. Read it. The pardon covers conduct through January 2025. It does not cover a sentence spoken in a hearing room in July 2026. Paul said so himself on X.

That was not a legal argument. That was the plan.

Then he had security remove Fauci’s lawyer from the room.
Now he wants a contempt vote next week. Let him. Make a federal court say out loud that a man facing an announced prosecution has no right to silence. That case does not end where Paul thinks it ends.

Fauci made the right call. His lawyers earned every dollar.
