#DCIM353c One of my biggest take-aways from this class has been in writing the final paper, which gave me an understanding of how intertwined politics, economics, social movements, technological advancements, and our own development as a society have become in the digital age.
#TXC20#DCIM353a My personal identity is best represented through my doodles and artistic expression. I am an art history major and I work at two art museums so I believe in engaging with the arts and am inspired by my french heritage and the memories I have from childhood trips.
#TXC20#DCIM353c My biggest tip for finding success at RU is to join clubs. It helps in so many capacities such as time management, leadership skills, and even socially. Rutgers is huge and easy to get lost in if you don't have a network of friends. https://t.co/EbNM2o1HUt
#DCIM353a#TXC20 This screenshot of a Facebook event created to push Brower into the Raritan depicts the essence of the Rutgers student body. It showcases our ability to raise awareness with the sheer size of the student body, our desire to fight for change, and our sarcasm.
@lexineuman2 I would even argue that disruptive technology is a positive thing! New technology depends on the death of old technologies, but for the purpose of meeting new, more current demands.
@RamirezNicholai This revolution caused many changes in the ways we interact with one another. Nowadays, most technological advancements are centered around new forms of social media which have created a culture of community across continents.
#DCIM353c One important topic we covered this semester is the criteria for a sustaining innovation, which requires marketing towards the demanding tier of the tech market. This difference is what allows a disruptive innovation to stay ahead of the competition.
#DCIM353c As we have discussed, a person is far more willing to believe something if they want to believe it, and unfortunately, Ramon has become more and more emotionally and financially invested that even a videochat with a different girl will not sway him.
#DCIM353c The digital relationship that Ramon shares with Paola is based entirely on a social media profile. Though the persona is not Paola, Ramon believes that it is and it goes to show the ways in which online personas can cause people to live in a falsified reality.
@mariam0rales Hi Maria! I said this too! I think it says a lot about our current cultural preferences that we are so willing to give up something that would seem so private. In reality social media presents a public persona.
@JohnFetherston2 I think it is amazing to see how easily people can connect online versus the difficulties of meeting a more diverse group of people in person!
#DCIM353c The most interesting part about Lane's research is the openness with which his subjects participated in sharing their social media. The study embodies the culture of publicizing a fabricated public persona. This culture disrupted the privacy of previous generations.
@RUrbm130 I think it's really interesting how streaming services have not only changed the nature of how we watch TV, but also how TV has been impacted by the popularization of binge watching.
@RutgersTalib Doing drones as your topic sounds really interesting! Are you going to address the ways in which they have become detrimental to our fundamental freedoms?
#DCIM353C Hi guys! My EDTP topic is CashApp! It has revolutionized the way we bank and has all but eliminated many of the services that were necessary for physical forms of currency. It uses a social media-like model through your contacts to make sending/receiving money easy.
