If you are interested in the mechanics of a trade like this, the attached chart will help.
This is the 3min chart. You can see the oversold condition on the 3rd chart down (Aroon Osc) and the 4th chart down (SMI), and the bottom chart (15min SMI). When these line up and you see long tails forming on the candles, it is a high probability entry. In this case the volume chart (2nd down) didn't tell us very much.
You could also wait for volume and volatility (not shown) to pick up, which occurred a few candles later.
A good exit is when the bottom chart (15min SMI) is overextended and price bumps into the 15min EMA21 (signified here as a gray dotted line). I like to sell some at this level and keep some to see if it runs further.
In this case I sold some even earlier because we achieved a significant dollar level that I wanted to protect.
$AVGO is now solidly above the EMA21 on the 3 min chart. I'd expect it to retest which would create an opportunity to buy some call options for tomorrow.
