@paigelaurel It’s because they want to give you a very high quote, then offer you a discount on that if you decide on the spot. They want you both there so they can press on the decision. This happened to me on a bathroom remodel and the salesman was very mad when I still said no.
@tylerguitar_@alitaylor Me too. I think people are fascinating and I enjoy talking deeply. It’s not a one-sided thing like emotional dumping. I share things and also listen and ask questions. It’s beautiful to connect with people (if they want to).
@Stoic_Father True story: in high school my son chose the hardest math track and it was very challenging. Two years later, my daughter’s turn to chose and I didn’t want her to chose the same. My husband spoke up and said, “She should. She can do it”. She got straight A’s too.
@kjoseff@facts_zero@Theholisticpsyc They also hate it because you’re “liked by everyone” and they’re not. But we’re liked at a big cost to ourselves. They are doing whatever they want.
@JJ_Denhollander @DaveEvanHughes Yesterday at my therapist:
Me: I wasn’t allowed to speak about what hurt me. I was told I was responsible for it and to figure out how to avoid it.
My therapist: That’s actually gaslighting.
Me: Really?
*That’s the thing, it’s so psychologically powerful it takes us a while.
@cherievann Oh no 🤦🏻♀️ but also this is setting off many jokes I want to say, like:
-What time will my 5G start working via my family members?
-Give me a sticker to warn others to stay away from me today.
@l0nele_ I am in Orlando and we should have no fatalities here. We had lots of rain, winds, and parts of the city lost power. The hurricane turned and the eye of it passed just south of us.
