drummer electrician grandfather, not backward about being forward, Distrust anything to do with USA, Conservatism, Franchised Jesus cults interfering in #auspol
Is there anyone left out there who have the slightest interest in Ita Buttroses opinion on any subject? I thought the ABC is supposed to be short of funds, I hope we taxpayers aren't billed for these 'expert opinions' so often totally irrelevant to me #auspol
With the statistics for sexual assault and worse among step fathers assaulting their step daughters being so high it might be worth considering what it means to step parents to be remembered on these days even more so if you are no longer with their other parent as a couple,
One of the highlights of my fathers day is hearing from my stepdaughter kel Inal T, a talented artist and mother of 3 amazing boys who I'm extremely proud of seeing how they are looking after their mum who recently was diagnosed with MS. The boys deserve my sincere praise
@fedupofpollys@mediawisemelb Indeed! As it is, taxpayers fund his paternalistic attacks on the rights of native title owners of land he is extracting huge private $profits from.
Twiggy and the beginning of INDUE,. "Income management" should be investigated While Fortescue was in court claiming indigenous owners of land they were mining deserved LESS royalties!! Twiggy 'invented' income management to nobble their $ability to fight against Fortescue!
@Poupon123#auspol Andrew 'Twiggy' Forrest is NOT a 'nice!,'my opinion.Yrs ago he admitted his company, Fortescue Metals, hadn't paid any tax, he was involved in terrible 'Indue Card.' He pretends to be humane by donating some money for charities but it's less than he should be paying in tax
@mediawisemelb@fedupofpollys IMO his philanthropy in the context of "giving" concessions to native title owners of (in this case) Solomon mining site, is paternalistic, in the worst possible taste and purely aimed at reducing royalty payments to rightful owners calling the royalties "Mining welfare" etc
Twiggy Forrest is undoubtedly many things but "charitable" and or "philanthropic" don't IMO come even close to describing his actual character or his IMO disturbing Neo colonial approach to basic respect for fellow humans
I Believe it was Tony Abbott who was PM when Income management was IMO 'weaponised' against Yindijibarndi corporation members. I think Ben Wyatt(?) was state minister for 'Aboriginal affairs(?) later a director of Rio Tinto! So many dodgy twists it deserves IMO investigation

Love this story of South Sydney RLFC. My family moved to Pagewood in 1964, I played rugby league from then to 1971-72 season, I played 2nd row for Maroubra (Souths juniors) and by the time I was 17-18 was getting knocked around too much, playing against people much bigger/heavier
The costs to access aged care is astronomical considering it is such a predictable stage of life and again IMO govts. allowing the health industry 'investors' to hire labour offshore and to stop training and employing Australians appears to have begun the decline
@DudeVotes Amazing we stood by and watched as our society was divided up among investors, their financiers and politicians to the point the majority of us struggle from week to week just to eat and pay the bills. Absurd we allowed this to happen and still we MUST choose between 2 options!
...and that's been going on for 50 years in my experience. My first wife was a nurse, worked in aged care and it has long been part of the business model from my observation to rely on the dedication of nurses to the welfare of their patients to increase $profits. No change..
To see the business model for a small aged care facility spelled out is a real eye opener. IMO there is no substitute for family being paid and properly supported to care for aged family members in their own homes BUT the greedy 'investors' won't be swayed by ethical arguments
@DudeVotes Before my wife passed from breast cancer she bought a share with 2 doctors in a 28 bed facility near Newcastle, NSW hoping to establish a 'model' facility. Ha! Her "partners" only motive was profit and they treated my wife badly, eventually forcing her to sell to them at a $loss.
I agree, IMO we should buy back all the privatised water, energy health, education assets and never let them leave public ownership/control again. It no doubt will be an $expensive exercise but truly what have we got to lose? A sound investment long term IMO #auspol
Send $20 to the Church of eternal fire and we'll send the answers to all your questions printed on eco friendly sustainably harvested koala skin, beautifully bound and illustrated and being a registered charity, you get a $deduction, we get $your tax free! Gotta love that
Exactly! And like in so many other aspects of our lives needing legislation to achieve 'change' or 'reform', nothing changes! NOTHING! In fact it appears to be worsening! I need change Really "WE" do but I'm uncomfortable speaking for the rest of yous
Anyone who has followed me for any length of time will know I try to only speak for myself, never assume the 'power' to speak for others, but I need many others to bring about change, I can't do it alone, Shame, I hate joining "movements" etc. except rock bands, I'm up for that!
...just look where 10+ YEARS of LNP planning, working to better the lives of the majority of Australians got us, Look at that house up the road they want $2 million for! While Barnaby diverted attention with $100 roasts etc, look what they did to #auspol We need to prosecute them
Really, what have we got to lose? How much worse can it get? I'm quite serious and yes, I'm aware things can get much worse BUT why not just stop, Reassess what we're doing, it's not really working for the majority of us is it? Time to embrace the 21st century and LIVE #auspol
