@CairnsTaipans were 4-0 vs. the @BrisbaneBullets last season.

The last time they played was September this pre-season, the Taipans lost 76-77.

Can they start this season 1-0 after losing the pre-season matchup?

Westbrook and Simmons playing together would be outright basketball comedy. A guy who won't shoot and a guy who can't stop shooting and they both end up with 5 points. 🤣 Lemme remind you, these two both signed MAX CONTRACTS!

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

Now that I've grabbed your attention with my hot take, Jordan Poole has agreed to a $140m contract extension with the Warriors per @wojespn

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

Hot take: Jordan Poole is currently a better player than James Harden

@harpyd04 @NBLpocketpod Now that the NBL has actually gone and done it my opinion is different and I don't particularly like the idea. I feel like there's too fewer teams to do this just yet. At the very least wait until there's 12 teams in the comp before even thinking about something like this.

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

10 consecutive seasons of the number of teams in the NBL not decreasing is the most in NBL history.

8 teams competed from 2012-2019
9 teams competed from 2019-2021
10 teams are competing as of 2021

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

+ 106 points is the most Tassie have given up in their history
+ 106 points is the highest opening game score for Cairns since 2005
+ 39 points in a qtr from Cairns is the most from them in the 40 minute era
+ 39 points in a qtr is also the most since Melb in the NBL21 semis

@NBAMemes Looks like the result of if Jacksepticeye and Isaac Humphries somehow defied basic biology and had a kid together 😂

Nathan Jawai to Melbourne United as a nominated injury replacement player???

[Olgun Uluc @OlgunUluc]

It’s confirmed: Ariel Hukporti has ruptured the Achilles tendon in his left leg, Melbourne United says. He’ll miss the entirety of the 2022-23 NBL season.

Russell Eastbrook was a good time

@2K_ANZ Put the 2020 Tokyo Boomers squad in the game. You had the 2016 Boomers in 2K17

Welcome back to the Aussie Woj!

[Olgun Uluc @OlgunUluc]

After over a year away, it’s time to pick up where I left off.

I’m very happy to be back at ESPN, covering basketball in Australia and beyond. The @ESPNAusNZ team welcomed me back with open arms, so I’m excited to get to work.

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

My take: Ben should be lower than Giddey after last season. Ben 82, Giddey 83.

Patty should at least have the same rating as Ingles. 76 at the bare minimum for Mills considering Russ as the bar for what a 78 is.

[Peter Hooley @PeterHooley12]

Hold up. Patty has to be a misprint. Surely.

On a scale of 1 to disrespectful, that’s about a 9.9999

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

@PeterHooley12 I say 76 purely by the fact that Westbrook is a 78

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

@PeterHooley12 Patty was the best three-point shooter in the entire league for the first couple of months of last season, this is just disrespect. Give him a 76 AT THE BARE MINIMUM!

Breaking: the Houston Rockets relocate to Seattle 😆

[Houston Rockets @HoustonRockets]

Greatness in every thread.

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

The Gold Coast is just a transient retirement village where sports teams go to die.

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

I shouldn't have to explain why this is a bad decision but here we go.

Gold Coast Rollers - founded 1990, folded 1996
Gold Coast Blaze - founded 2007, folded 2012.

[NBL @NBL]

Golden years ahead? 🌊⛱️🏀

The Gold Coast is set to pitch for an NBL license in 2024, joining the growing list of potential expansion options for the League 👀👀

[Aussie Ballcast @AussieBallcast]

Canberra, Newcastle, Darwin, a second team in Sydney, or even a return to Townsville should be bigger priorities for NBL expansion before we dig up the NBL graveyard like this.
