The lasting impact of former Kissimmee City Manager Mark Durbin’s legacy can be found all around our community. As one of the Central Florida’s longest serving City Managers, he created a culture that encouraged those around him to contribute towards the greater good.

Today marks the third anniversary of the tragedy that took the lives of two heroes. Sergeant Sam Howard and Officer Matthew Baxter will be forever memorialized with the dedication of our new Public Safety Training Facility in their honor.
It wasn’t long ago I traded this lapel pin to proudly wear the one I earned bearing the seal of our great city. However, I’m giving the seal a day off today and wearing my badge in remembrance of Matt and Sam with @kissimmeepolice who made the ultimate sacrifice three years ago.
There’s still much uncertainty about how Tropical Storm Isaias could impact our community. We encourage all residents to ensure they have a plan and to continue monitoring trusted local media outlets for updates regarding the forecast and potential impacts to our area.
Great news for Florida! $3.3 million will be sent to @flyKissimmee from @USDOT for airport improvements and safety enhancements. This is so important for Central Florida and will bring a much-needed boost to the State’s economy!

The situation in Minnesota is an example of why we established a Peer Intervention Program over 3 years ago @kissimmeepolice. Our personnel have an affirmative duty to intercede, and we provide scenario-based training that reinforces their need to intervene.
More than 900 families made their way through the line this morning. There were so many saying thank you and showing thanks with their hands 🙏 through the car windows....it was it all worth it.
