The story behind Sol Rx is simple. I try not to get sunburned, but at the beginning of each summer, I always do. Each time I've used aloe vera, I've been disappointed with how poorly it works. It hardly moisturizes, I still have the pain, itching, heat, and trouble sleeping. I had compounded topicals for myself on a few occasions and decided to tackle this. I did some research and compounded a solution with FDA-monograph-compliant ingredients and concentration. Boom. It worked like a charm, and Sol Rx was born.
Now it is my mission to spread this product so nobody has to suffer from sunburn again.
Eli Lilly has done it.
They've gone and made what seems to be a powerful, permanent gene therapy for LDL cholesterol.
That means they'll be able to effectively prevent most heart disease with a single infusion!
Problem of social media/news/information consumption: Even the most positive information consumption obscures our internal ideas. We read from people who have their own ideas and philosophies that were derived entirely from experience or even divine intervention. Now there are too many signals to be a great thinker of your time unless you isolate.
People love the idea of acquiring wealth without working: Lottery, social media, divorce, handout, modeling, inheritance. This, I think, is a demon. A demon that says you can wait for circumstance to provide you with the life you want. It will result in your failure. You should actively work towards your success. Reward without achievement will feel empty.
Laws are not preventative. Laws are just words that enable law enforcement to punish/remove criminals from civilized society. This exclusive function should be obvious.
Any law that attempts to be purely preventative is foolish and wasteful.
The fitness trend was hitting its peak from COVID through 2025, but it seems that height is coming to an end. Potentially due to the adoption of GLPs. Perhaps it is no longer as impressive to have a lean physique. Not as impressive because it’s becoming common and easy. I think this could cause gym numbers to dwindle, especially outside of the largest gym-going demographics.
Something lost in modern architecture is building for future expansion. Homes would be built small and symmetrical so that, upon wealth or familial expansion, the home could be expanded too.
A 5-10 minute commute might be ideal. Close enough to home to make a quick run. Far enough for compartmentalization. Not draining, maybe even energizing or refreshing.
I often use the gym as a proxy for life because there are parallels, and it is one of the first things I became good or successful at. Here is one thing about the gym. I had to do enough of it while hating it to become an enjoyer. I would say that could extend beyond the gym.
I find it very interesting to think about the products we use today and their most primal origins. When I use a blanket, I can’t help but think it is a synthetic fur pelt. When I wear jeans, I can’t help but think they are vegan buckskins. Then there are the things that have hardly changed; we still have knives, bows, cordage, etc., but with new materials and manufacturing.
Not seeing the sudden January surge of newbies at the gym like usual, anyone else noticed the same? Can people just not afford it any more I’m wondering?
A modern plague is the idea that we are wizards and with regulation we can somehow prevent crimes before they happen by regulating the means and pretense to the crimes. This is a falsity. We can only stop crime by taking action after its occurrence. We can remove the perpetrators from our society, or at least from the situations where they are liable to commit.
Whenever I burglarize a daycare center, I always know exactly where to find and steal documents that could be used as evidence in a criminal fraud trial.
this is the answer most people need to hear about most things, btw. “life doesn’t feel like this anymore”, “this doesn’t happen anymore”, yeah because YOU’RE supposed to be doing it. YOU’RE the adult now, who’s supposed to be creating the magic that other adults used to create for you, when you were a CHILD.
In the town where I grew up, there is a hiking trail to a waterfall. It's a small waterfall with a little swimming hole in the woods. It's a nice spot to swim in the hot months of summer. It is also public, so free. During COVID, when people weren't working, there was an influx of people from out of town looking for a free outdoor activity. During this period, the natural area became plagued by trash like bottles, cans, and dirty diapers. Perhaps the out-of-towners didn't care because they had no stake in it.
