To be clear: When I reference the mistakes of pastors / churches I’m talking about minor mistakes (I.e. subpar sermon) NOT moral failures, abuse or systemic major issues.
I recently saw this:
A fast-food restaurant messes up your order a dozen times and you still return.
A pastor or local church messes up a few times and you leave the church and gossip for years.
I fear we’re quick to leave and gossip rather than give feedback & contribution.
For some, this is a joyful time of year.
For others, this is a tearful time of year.
As Christians, let’s follow Christs example and meet people right where they’re at!
Pastors that teach rich theology in an understandable way will never lack an audience.
Many pastors either:
• teach deep theology over people’s head
OR
• assume people aren’t interested in theology and steer away from it.
🧵 Here are 5 things that can distinguish you:
A church member recently asked me, “What’s the hardest part about being a pastor?”
My answer:
Walking with people through a major life issue only for them to leave the church at some point over something petty, often without ever talking to you.

News flash:
A small church ≠ a bad church.
Just because they don’t have fancy lights or a writing team for their pastor doesn’t mean there aren’t faithful pastors teaching faithful people.
@hollybishu Yes!
Her and I share many of the same values, interests and we love spending time with one another which is the foundation of a deep friendship. Fantastic question Holly!!
It takes a big effort to live an undistracted life.
Do the work.
Darkness doesn’t want to destroy you; it wants to distract you.
Don't give in.
Faith, kindness, purpose and people. Dwell on these.
