Sophie knew she should've asked about it further, but a wave of sadness and grief overcame her out of nowhere and she clutched her stomach at the sudden onslaught of emotions, unable to do anything but give into it.

There was darkness around her. She was not able to see through the fog of blackness clouding the surroundings, no matter how long she stood there and waited for her eyes to adjust.

“We have no idea when the Cetoans will make their move. We’re pretty confident they lost the element of surprise after Hector’s outburst, but we’re sure they had a back-up plan ready,” Albert explained.
“You know, I found this in an old wooden chest back at the beach house." Sophie grabbed the glass of water on the table in front of the couch, taking a sip from it. "I had never seen it before and the only reason why I took it out because I thought it was pretty."

“I’m sorry,” he whispered.
It took a moment for Sophie to realize that he had apologized to her. She stepped forward a bit, her brows furrowed in confusion. “You’re sorry?”
