I’ve gotten a couple replies from people saying it’s not really fast fashion if they wear their clothes forever, and that’s not what fast fashion is. Fast fashion is a business model of hypertrends + high turnover. Basically making a lot, making it quickly, and making it cheaply.
Every author I know has agent horror stories. Yet often when we discuss our querying experiences, we're told it's unfair to complain about agents who are trying their best.
We need to acknowledge that while many agents are doing their best, bad agent behavior is pervasive.
It is far past time for stigma about ADHD stimulants to subside.
They are:
✨not addictive when taken as prescribed
✨highly effective for most w/ADHD w/minimal side effects
✨out of our system quickly
✨stimulants. Like…caffeine. They don’t get us high, they help us work.
So apparently while I was asleep, a paper in the UK published an article about how, if you focus, study, and lie, you can get a mental health diagnosis you don't need. And because access to ADHD meds is already being restricted and attacked, it's going to be used to do harm.
Look, I don't have a horse in this race anymore but it's really Stinky to me that the agent telling people to put up or shut up was part of the subtweet witch hunt against one of my friends when she got agented....
@alechiadow Say it louder!!!! If I acted the way many agents do on the internet on a public account, I’d be FIRED. It’s okay to vent but don’t y’all have a group chat to do that? And don’t even get me started about agents and inbox management….
So yeah. Cancel me. Ruin my chances. I don’t care. I’m a pitch wars loser and I’ve clearly given up. But I’m sick and tired of my friends getting kicked over and over again while they’re down so I’ll take it for the team.
