Just a reminder that if you love the authors in your life, consider gifting their books to the other people in your life. Especially when buying gifts for kids... There's a ton of great #kidlit authors with books like this that are perfect gifts: https://t.co/urpOLupLhU
He’s been talking to your people all day, and from what I’ve seen of Walmart’s treatment of employees I don’t trust you not to retaliate. Rather than listen to one dude complaining about one person and addressing it because they made your choices known publicly, FIX YOUR POLICY.
I know that posting this is shouting into the void, and I probably shouldn’t go to social media to air my grievances, but this is the world we’ve created. My son works hard, is treated poorly, and deserves better. We all do.
I knew I didn’t like @walmart, but now they just denied my son’s paternity leave because his little girl—my granddaughter—was born a single DAY before his one-year anniversary at the company. She came several days before her due date, and he had his leave all set up ready to go.
If she’d come 6 hours later, he would be fine.
I hope @Walmart loses every bit of the minuscule amount of money they saved by choosing this callous and employee-unfriendly course.
Haven’t been on here much for a while now, and the only notifications that are coming through on my phone right now are political ads (that are opposed to how I vote), so I’m removing Twitter (yes, Twitter) from my phone for now. Find me elsewhere. Love y’all!
For those of you with a Fourth Wing book hangover, I've rereleased my Scorched trilogy which is basically a new adult "Terminator...but with dragons." (Yes, New Dragon City wasn't my first foray into the dragon apocalypse!)
At yesterday’s school visit, every kid got to choose one of my books to keep, and the librarian gave them options. From Disney Magic to a fairy tale reform school to a story about a girl sharing her Hollywood secrets. A good reminder that one book does not fit all readers.
All this arguing over bad publishing advice is distracting you from the work that REALLY matters…
Finishing the novel you started writing to spite an English teacher who didn’t like a short story you wrote two decades ago.
@ericsmithrocks It seriously says A LOT that this keeps happening. But unfettered, reckless capitalism with no accountability is the divine right for CFO’s… right? RIGHT??
🐢 Saw a turtle and thought, 'That's me trying to adult.' Teachers, how do you keep it together teaching us life skills? Asking for a friend. #AdultingLikeATurtle#TeachersMakeMeLookSlow
November is #AlzheimersAwarenessMonth & the perfect time to share a sneak peek into the heartfelt #picturebook, I’LL REMEMBER, POPPY by Anne O’Brien Carelli @aobc, a meaningful #story that dives into the complex & compassionate relationship between a grandfather with Dementia & his grandchild. If you or someone you love is dealing with #Alzheimers remember to love them with all you have & share this #PB.💜

Okay, but seriously, self-promotion over—there are GOBS of great authors who also deserve to have you pick up their books for your loved ones. And keep an eye out for the marginalized authors, too. :)
