It's time for some indie book recs!
Going back into the early days of my indie reads (the way back machine, aka GR, tells me I read these about this time in 2022), and it was a four book series called War of the Twelve by @stumbleine44

Sisters of Mercy is really unique and interesting so far! I'm about 30% in; it's a fairly short novella.
Slight addendum to the version of Dracula I'm listening to: it's Audible's newest dramatized adaptation with Ella Purnell.

Death Cult Inferno is out now, and I’m keeping the ebook at $.99 all October. Enjoy!! 🖤🔥

Ten horror short stories dealing with death make up this engrossing new collection from S.H. Cooper. If you love her work, this is a must read. If you haven't read anything by this author, this is a good place to start.

Like Atlantis rising from the sea, we need to raise Amazon's awareness of our resolve to #SaveStargate. Their silence is deafening. They know they screwed up by canning Martin Gero's #Stargate revival.
They don't need to admit a mistake, just resume dialing the ORIGINAL gate.
👋 Hi @AmazonMGMStudio please understand something about Stargate: the fans aren’t an obstacle to be managed, they’re the reason this IP still matters.
Alienating the very audience that has kept Stargate alive for years is not doing you any favours.
You don’t honour a legacy by pretending it never happened. You honour it by understanding why people loved it in the first place.
Stargate isn’t just a title, a logo or a universe that can be wiped clean because starting again is easier creatively. It has decades of characters, mythology, relationships, humour, world-building and, most importantly, an audience that invested in it.
And that’s why bringing the OG creators back initially felt like such a promising move. They understood the DNA of Stargate. They understood that you could evolve the franchise without throwing away everything that came before.
That was the right track.
But now, since the cancellation, the answer shouldn’t be “start from scratch because it’s simpler.” The challenge, and the opportunity, is to build the next chapter while respecting the chapters that made Stargate worth continuing.
Fans don’t expect Stargate to stay frozen in the past.
They expect it to remember where it came from.
Amazon MGM, you have an opportunity to build something incredible here. But that starts with listening to the people who have carried this franchise for decades, not alienating them.
Respect the legacy. Build on it. Don’t erase it.
